- *Job Title:** Accounts ( 2 to 3 years of Experience )
- *Location:** Gurgaon \-5 day work from office
- *Timing\-** as per the Australian process (8 AM TO 5PM)
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and experienced **Accounts Officer/Accountant** with a strong understanding of **Australian accounting principles**, **GST compliance**, and **proficiency in Xero**. You will be responsible for managing day\-to\-day accounting operations, preparing BAS statements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts using **Xero accounting software**
- Prepare and lodge **Business Activity Statements (BAS)**, including **GST**, **PAYG Withholding**, and **FBT** reporting
- Process **accounts payable (AP)** and **accounts receivable (AR)**, ensuring timely payment cycles and invoice management
- Perform **bank reconciliations**, credit card reconciliations, and petty cash management
- Prepare and maintain **general ledger journals** and **adjusting entries**
- Assist with **monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports**
- Ensure compliance with **Australian Taxation Office (ATO)** regulations and **Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)**
- Process and manage **payroll** and **superannuation** obligations as per **Superannuation Guarantee** laws
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and the ATO when required
- Support the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain and update **financial records**, **filing systems**, and **internal controls**
- Proven experience in an **accounts or finance role** within Australia
- Proficiency in **Xero accounting software** (certification preferred)
- Strong understanding of **Australian GST**, **income tax**, **payroll tax**, and **superannuation**
- Knowledge of **Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)** and **IFRS**
- Experience in preparing and lodging **BAS**
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Diploma or degree in **Accounting**, **Finance**, or a related field
- **Xero Certification**
- **Registered BAS Agent** (desirable)
