We are seeking a detail\-oriented and motivated **Accountant** to join our team and support the company’s financial operations with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the company. This role ensures compliance with accounting principles and financial regulations, oversees billing and payment processes, and supports financial planning and reporting activities. The Accountant will work closely with the operations and management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost control aligned with business objectives.
1\. Financial Record Management
- Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date financial records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
2\. Billing and Invoicing
- Prepare and issue invoices for freight, shipping, and other logistics services provided by the company.
- Verify and process vendor invoices while ensuring timely payments to suppliers and service providers.
- Monitor billing cycles to ensure prompt and accurate invoicing to clients.
3\. Expense and Cost Management
- Track and analyze expenses related to shipments, customs duties, warehousing, and logistics operations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to monitor costs and identify cost\-saving opportunities.
- Prepare expense reports and ensure adherence to budgetary controls and company policies.
4\. Taxation and Compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, GST, and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and financial reviews.
5\. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit \& loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide management with financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision\-making.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
6\. Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and maintain sufficient liquidity for business operations.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments from clients.
- Liaise with banks regarding transactions, loans, and other financial services.
7\. Collaboration with Other Departments
- Work closely with the operations team to align financial records with shipment\-related costs.
- Collaborate with the sales team for client account reconciliation and payment tracking.
- Support the HR department with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- *Qualifications \& Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification or proficiency in Tally is preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem\-solving, and organizational skills.
