About DataVizX

DataVizX builds decision\-support solutions for CEOs and CFOs, including dashboards, automated management reviews, and AI assistants built on business data. Our clients operate across automotive, aviation, real estate, manufacturing, retail, and social housing.

Our technical team builds BI and AI solutions for clients across Europe and the Caribbean.

The role

We are looking for an AI Engineer with a genuine interest in Business Intelligence (BI), capable of building practical AI agents, assistants, and automations that solve real business problems.

You will design, build, test, deploy, and maintain AI solutions from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

  • Build AI assistants that answer natural\-language questions about financial and operational data using text\-to\-SQL and document retrieval.
  • Develop multi\-step agents for data collection, validation, anomaly detection, and report preparation.
  • Integrate Claude, OpenAI, SQL Server, ERP systems, CRM software, and REST APIs.
  • Build MCP servers and API connectors.
  • Explore local and on\-premise AI models for sensitive business data.
  • Implement data anonymisation, access controls, logging, and audit trails.
  • Develop workflows using n8n, Make, or Power Automate where appropriate.
  • Measure AI accuracy, reliability, response time, and cost.
  • Support BI projects involving Power BI, SQL, and data modelling.
  • Document solutions and share technical knowledge with the team.

Required qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of hands\-on experience delivering LLM applications used by real users, such as agents, RAG applications, or tool\-calling systems.
  • Strong Python and solid SQL skills.
  • Experience with Claude/OpenAI APIs and an agent framework such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or native SDKs.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, Git, and Docker.
  • Professional written and spoken English.

Preferred skills

  • MCP servers and API integrations.
  • Local models such as Ollama, llama.cpp, or vLLM.
  • n8n, Make, Power Automate, or Copilot Studio.
  • Power BI, DAX, SQL Server, and data modelling.
  • Vector databases such as pgvector, Qdrant, or Chroma.
  • Experience with finance, accounting, or ERP data.
  • Relevant AI, cloud, or BI certifications.
  • French language skills.

What matters to us

We hire based on proof of work, not just CVs or tool lists.

We want to understand what you personally built, how you tested it, how you measured its quality, what failures you encountered, and what measurable value your solution delivered.

Projects from courses, hackathons, and personal work are welcome, provided they are clearly labelled.

How to apply — all 7 items required

The project template and skills matrix are in the full job offer (link above).

Send all the following items in one email to **asamad@datavizx.com** with the subject line **AI Engineer application – Your Name**.

  • **CV:** Maximum 2 pages, including the month and year of each position and the tools used.
  • **Project portfolio:** Your 3 most relevant projects, each described using the project template.
  • **Proof of work:** GitHub/GitLab profile, live demos, or a 2–3 minute screen recording per project. For confidential projects, an architecture diagram and a recorded demo using anonymised data are acceptable.
  • **Skills matrix:** Completed skills matrix, with each skill level supported by a project.
  • **Technical question:** Your answer to the question below, in 300 words maximum. No code is required.
  • **Certifications:** Include verification links, if available.
  • **Practical details:** Current and expected monthly compensation, notice period, and commute time to Palava.
  • *Technical question:**

A CFO asks our assistant: “What was our gross margin by region last quarter, and why did the South drop?” The data sits in a SQL Server database. How would you build an assistant that answers this question, and how would you make sure it never gives a wrong figure?

Applications without a project portfolio will not be reviewed.

Selection process

  • Application review: portfolio, skills matrix, and technical answer.
  • Technical interview with the Technical Director to discuss your projects and personal contribution.
  • Practical case: build a small agent that answers questions on an anonymised SQL dataset, with every figure reconciled to the official totals. Approximately one day of work, followed by a presentation.
  • Final conversation with the founder of DataVizX.

The selected candidate will begin with a 3\-month probation period, concluded by a mission review.

Pay: ₹400,000\.00 \- ₹1,000,000\.00 per year
