• *Role description**

Area Manager Electrical Steel

Person would bring in the experience in Electrical Steel O\&M (operation and maintenance) to the current POG and Projects teams (to avoid blind spots).

• *1\.** **Job responsibilities**

a. Discuss packages with OEMs on best practices from Electrical Steel operations perspective\- for GO and NO grades of ES. Engage with **Technical Experts – International Consultants for resolving gaps in technical discussions with OEMs.**

b. Ensure Processes Design and Engineering is as per industry benchmarks. Set standards for **Electrical Steel materials (Grain Oriented and Non Grain oriented**) , ensuring compliance with metallurgical and mechanical property requirements for diverse grades and customers/auto/ engineering applications

c. **Expertise in ES operations and downstream processes**, Understanding of Steel Chemistry and grades, thermal cycles, shape defects, quality control and RCA, Profile/ flatness control.

d. Project Operations and Commissioning\- Operation readiness , SOP development, testing cold and hot commissioning, integration trials , Management of OEM/vendor for PGT ,FAT and cross functional project interfaces, Project planning, critical path management, CAPEX control

e. Automation and Drives \- Understanding Level 1, 2 and 3 automation , PLC/SCADA, process models and MES integration, Focus of yield and energy efficiency

f. Enforce stringent safety standards and ensure adherence to all statutory requirements related to industrial operations, including crane operation and man\-machine interface.

g. To ensure work is executed in line with Project Specifications (Technical and Quality), Project Cost and in full compliance with HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) requirements. Ensure smooth commissioning of new facilities. Prepare strategies to provide support to all purchasing plans and ensure inventory accuracy.

h. Coordinate with project team, planning engineers, design engineers and vendor partners for defining construction plan \& schedule

i. Conducting trial run tests of individual equipment in local and remote mode and ensures operating parameters as per approved specification are achieved. This will ensure completion of Single Function Trial (SFT).

j. Opening day requirement (ODR): Identification and arrangement for ODR and ensuring spares and services availability for Commissioning from Revenue or Capex budget as applicable

k. Plan for training on SOP, Commissioning checklists etc. which are needed for start of commissioning. Verify effectiveness of training before involvement in commissioning activities

• *Skills*** BTech (Mech/ Electrical/ Materials preferably)
• 5\-10 years of experience in O\&M of Electrical Steel manufacturing/ operations

• Stint in overseas ES plant of India based processing centres will be preferred
