Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Area Sales Manager to drive sales and market expansion for our publishing business across Pune and surrounding regions. The candidate will be responsible for promoting educational books, academic publications, school solutions, and digital learning products through schools, colleges, distributors, booksellers, and institutional channels. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in educational publishing, channel sales, and institutional business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned sales targets for educational books, academic publications, and digital learning products.
- Develop and manage relationships with schools, colleges, coaching institutes, libraries, and educational institutions.
- Appoint, manage, and strengthen distributor and bookseller networks across the assigned territory.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand the company's presence in the education sector.
- Conduct regular meetings with Principals, School Managements, Teachers, HODs, and decision\-makers to promote company publications.
- Drive textbook adoptions and institutional sales by understanding curriculum requirements and academic needs.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback to develop effective sales strategies.
- Plan and execute book exhibitions, academic workshops, seminars, and promotional campaigns.
- Lead and mentor Sales Executives, Territory Managers, and field sales teams to maximize performance.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain healthy receivables from channel partners and institutions.
- Prepare sales forecasts, territory reports, and market intelligence for management review.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of educational publishing and textbook sales.
- Excellent institutional selling and relationship management skills.
- Experience in distributor, dealer, and channel management.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to build long\-term relationships with educators and academic stakeholders.
- Strategic planning and territory management expertise.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Pune and nearby territories.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 7–12 years of sales experience in Educational Publishing, Academic Publishing, EdTech, or School Solutions.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding market share.
- Strong network among schools, colleges, distributors, and booksellers in Maharashtra.
- Experience handling K\-12, Higher Education, Competitive Exam, or Reference Book segments will be preferred.
- MBA in Marketing or Sales Management is an added advantage.

Pay: ₹100,000\.00 \- ₹125,000\.00 per month
