Associate Software Engineer

The IT Back End Software Engineer is responsible for developing the back end of a web application, handling the logic, database interactions, user authentication, configuration, etc. The IT Back End Software Engineer evaluates emerging technologies and provides strategic, innovative and cost\-effective engineering solutions to increase the efficiency, reliability and integration of Schlumberger services and operations. This person works semi\-autonomously as part of a team that performs rapid prototyping of emerging technologies to solve industry\-related problems.

• Develop server\-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front\-end developers.
• Integrate user\-facing elements developed by front\-end developers with server\-side applications.
• Collaborate with front\-end developers, customers, users and Product Managers to establish objectives and design functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
• Provide technical leadership and documentation to developers and stakeholders.
• Apply usability procedures and principles as defined at the project or Product Line level or through customer input.
• Build prototypes, products and systems that meet the project quality standards and requirements.
• Contribute to and support re\-use through common components that are well documented and tested.

Key responsibilities

• Developer
• Work on doing WRICEF developments on SAP platform using ABAP, working along with the development leads and functional analysts
• Understand the SLB business and requirements from the business that need to be developed
• Understand and leverage the developments standards and framework in SLB
• Write technical specifications and review with Technical Architects
• Perform respective software development of new, or enhancement
• Perform technical and functional tests.
• Deployment of Code in Test, Quality and Production environments
• Follows the technical governance (standards, best practices, etc.)

People

• Be part of the multicultural team supporting and deploying SAP application across the globe
• Be a close partner with the Business and providing software solutions
• Evaluate system performance and be expert with platform configuration optimization and best practices
• Monitor capacity usage and be proactive with growth planning
• Be able to prepare, test, and implement scripts in Linux and/or Windows environments
• Follow SLB guideline on security best practices.
• Maintain effective communication with Data Center support services personnel on OS, application, database administration and security patching and validate the results
• Engage with the SLB Cloud team to get alignment in terms of technologies and approaches and identify and leverage synergies
• Follows and contributes to the technical governance (standards, best practices, etc.).

• Engage with the business segments and internal stakeholders as needed
• Work closely with analysts, designers and SMEs
• Work closely with internal stakeholders associated with IT.

• Bachelor¹s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
• Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills
