Responsibilities

Design, develop, and publish APIs using Azure API Management, applying best practices for versioning, documentation, and lifecycle management
Author and maintain APIM policies for authentication, authorization, rate limiting, caching, transformation, and routing
Implement API security using OAuth2 and JWT tokens, and enforce access control and threat protection
Create and maintain OpenAPI specifications and ensure accurate API documentation
Automate APIM deployment and configuration using ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
Integrate APIs with backend services such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, and ASP.NET Core applications
Monitor and troubleshoot APIs using Application Insights and Azure Monitor, and respond to incidents to maintain SLAs
Collaborate with architects, developers, and product owners to define API contracts, governance, and lifecycle processes
Optimize API performance through caching, rate limiting, and request/response transformation strategies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
5\+ years of hands\-on experience designing and implementing APIs, preferably with Azure API Management
Proven experience with API design, security patterns, and integration with cloud services
Strong scripting and automation experience with PowerShell and Azure CLI
Experience authoring infrastructure as code using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability practices using Application Insights and Azure Monitor
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem\-solving skills
