Backend/API Python Test Automation Engineer

• *About the role**

You will join the QA team, focused on testing and automating validation of the backend/API layer.

• *Responsibilities**

• Python Automation \- 5 to 7 yrs of experience with networking experience
• Pune location preferred, with fallback on Bangalore
• Working with large enterprise experience
• Overlap in US working time
• Build and maintain Python\-based automated tests targeting backend services and APIs
• Design and execute API\-level test scenarios covering functional and edge cases
• Report and track defects, collaborating with backend developers to clarify requirements
• Integrate backend test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Support cross\-layer testing efforts alongside platform and UI engineers
• *Requirements**

• Strong Python skills with API test automation experience
• General networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing); SD\-WAN exposure is a plus
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of assigned test areas
• Mid\-to\-senior level experience in QA automation / SDET roles

Cisco certifications: CCNA and CCNP
