Most backend roles ask you to build dashboards and CRUD APIs. This one is different.

You will be working on a mission\-critical Workforce Management Platform deployed in high\-security, access\-controlled environments, where the software directly governs who enters, who is tracked, and who is accountable at any given moment. The system integrates with physical infrastructure: biometric devices, RFID systems, IP cameras, RTSP streams, face recognition engines, and access control hardware. When it works, it is invisible. When it doesn't, operations stop.

This is a live, production platform used in demanding operational environments. You will be enhancing and scaling it, not greenfielding, which means your decisions carry real consequences for real deployments.

You will work directly with a founding team member. No layers, no ticket queues. Fast decisions, high ownership.

• *What You Will Own**

• Backend services and business logic in Node.js and TypeScript
• REST API design, enhancement, and reliability at scale
• Integrations with hardware and real\-world device ecosystems — RFID, biometrics, IP cameras, RTSP streams, face recognition, and access control systems
• Database architecture and query performance on MySQL
• Containerised deployment and environment management via Docker
• Diagnosing and resolving integration and production issues — you are the last line of defence
• Occasional frontend contributions where the backend\-frontend boundary demands it

• *What We Are Looking For**

• *Must\-have**

• 4\+ years of backend or backend\-heavy full stack development
• Production\-grade Node.js and TypeScript, not tutorials, actual shipped systems
• REST API design experience at scale
• Strong MySQL — schema design, query optimisation, not just ORM usage
• Docker and containerised environments
• A genuine instinct for debugging — you find things others miss

• *Strong advantage**

• Prior work with hardware integrations — RFID, biometrics, CCTV/IP cameras, RTSP, IoT, or access control systems
• Experience building software for Workforce Management, Industrial, Surveillance, or Security domains
• Comfort working in high\-accountability environments where uptime is non\-negotiable
