Backend Developer (Python/Django + DevOps)

Backend Development

 Build and maintain REST APIs using Python and Django REST Framework (DRF).

 Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and database migrations.

 Develop Celery\-based asynchronous tasks for background processing, scheduled jobs,

reporting, and workflow automation.

 Maintain secure multi\-tenant architecture with proper data isolation across customer accounts.

 Build and enhance modules including

o Asset Masters

o Material Requests

o Allotments

o Inward \& Outward

o Returns

o ASN/GRN

o Expense Management

o Procurement

o Reporting

 Integrate RFID, Barcode, QR Code, and other AIDC hardware devices using APIs and SDKs.

 Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain high code quality

standards.

 Troubleshoot application issues and continuously improve system performance and

scalability.

DevOps \& Cloud (Google Cloud Platform)

 Manage and maintain infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

 Deploy and manage applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, and

Compute Engine.

 Administer Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Memorystore (Redis), Cloud Storage, and Cloud CDN.

 Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry, or

equivalent tools.

 Monitor application health using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging, and proactively

respond to production alerts.

 Configure and maintain Cloud Armor (WAF/DDoS Protection), IAM, Secret Manager, and

Security Command Center.

 Manage deployments, environment configuration (Development, Staging, and Production),

and rollback strategies.

 Implement and maintain Pub/Sub\-based event\-driven workflows where applicable.

 Ensure cloud infrastructure follows best practices for availability, scalability, security, and

cost optimization.

Must\-Have Skills

 Strong proficiency in Python (3\.7\+ or later) with excellent programming fundamentals.

 Hands\-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework.

 Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing,

and migrations.

 Experience with Celery and Redis for asynchronous task processing.

 Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication (JWT/OAuth2\), versioning,

validation, and error handling.

 Experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including

o Compute Engine

o Cloud SQL

o Cloud Storage

o Cloud CDN

o Cloud Load Balancing

o IAM

 Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions,

GitLab CI, or equivalent tools.

 Strong understanding of Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative

development workflow

Good to Have

 Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Cloud Run.

 Hands\-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

 Experience with Memorystore/Redis for caching and performance optimization.

 Knowledge of Cloud Armor and GCP security best practices.

 Experience with Pub/Sub or other event\-driven architectures.

 Familiarity with IoT, RFID, barcode, or industrial device integrations.

 Exposure to multi\-tenant SaaS application architecture.

 Basic understanding of React.js to collaborate effectively with frontend developers.

 GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps

Engineer.

Ideal Candidate Profile

 4–6 years of experience in backend development using Python and Django.

 Experience working in a product startup or SaaS environment is preferred.

 Proven ability to manage both backend application development and cloud infrastructure.

 Comfortable taking ownership of production systems from development through deployment

and maintenance.

 Strong problem\-solving skills with a focus on building scalable, secure, and reliable software

solutions.

 Experience supporting and scaling production applications used by enterprise customers.

What This Role Is Not

 This is not a backend\-only role—you will also be responsible for managing cloud

infrastructure.

 This is not a large engineering team where DevOps responsibilities are handled separately.

 This role requires ownership of production systems and occasional support outside regular

working hours when critical production issues arise.
