We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager Govt Business and Sales to lead and manage our sales vertical with a key focus on the Government e\-Marketplace (GEM). The ideal candidate will be a hunter with a proven track record of end\-to\-end sales cycle management, from lead generation to deal closure.
This role involves identifying, engaging, and closing business opportunities within government departments, semi\-government organizations (including universities and educational institutions), and public sector enterprises. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strategic relationships, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
· Take full ownership by proactively identifying and acquiring new clients in the government and semi\-government sector
· This will be an individual contributor role, focused on a hunting approach to drive new Client acquisition.
· Hands\-on experience and deep knowledge of GEM portal operations and public procurement processes
· Ability to develop new business opportunities in government departments, PSUs, and educational institutions
· Drive end\-to\-end sales through the GEM portal, from prospecting to closure
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision\-makers
· Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve consistent growth targets
· Stay updated on government procurement policies, competitor activity, and market dynamics
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and high client satisfaction
· Track, manage, and report on sales pipeline and performance metrics
In\-depth knowledge and hands\-on experience with the **GEM** portal.
Strong understanding of government procurement processes and tendering procedures.
Experience in handling techno\-commercial bids.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (data handling, reports, etc.).
Self\-motivated, goal\-oriented, and able to work independently.
Pay: ₹1,500,000\.00 \- ₹1,800,000\.00 per year
