  • *ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are looking for a skilled engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support Cisco RoomOS Macros for advanced AV equipment integration on Cisco Webex collaboration devices (Room Kits, Boards, Desk series, Room Navigators, etc.).

The role focuses on creating custom JavaScript macros and UI Extensions that enable seamless control and automation of AV systems — including lighting, blinds, climate control, DSPs, matrix switchers, cameras, sensors, and other third\-party peripherals — in meeting rooms, divisible spaces, and hybrid workspaces.

  • *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

· Develop, test, and deploy **Cisco RoomOS Macros** (JavaScript \+ xAPI) for custom UI actions, automated workflows, and device integrations.

· **Integrate Cisco Webex/RoomOS devices, Cisco Microphones, Cisco Cameras, and Codecs with third\-party AV equipment** using xAPI, GPIO, HDMI\-CEC, HTTP Client, serial, and other interfaces.

· Create and manage **UI Extensions** (panels, buttons, web views) on Touch 10 / Room Navigator for intuitive control of AV systems.

· Automate room scenarios such as room booking/unbooking, lighting/blinds/climate control, multi\-room/divisible room configurations, camera presets, and peripheral control.

· Troubleshoot macro\-related issues, device performance, and AV signal flow (audio/video/networking).

· Collaborate with AV integrators, facilities, and IT teams on design, installation, commissioning, and documentation of solutions.

· Maintain macro libraries, version control, and deployment processes (including Control Hub macro management).

· Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and end\-user guidance on custom features.

· Stay updated on RoomOS releases, new xAPI capabilities, and Cisco AV integration best practices.

  • *REQUIRED SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE**

· Hands\-on experience developing **Cisco Room OS / CE Macros** using JavaScript and the xAPI library.

· Strong understanding of Cisco Webex Room Devices (Room Kit series, Board, Desk Pro, Room Navigator, etc.) and RoomOS.

· Experience integrating **Cisco Webex/RoomOS devices, Cisco Microphones, Cisco Cameras, and Codecs** with third\-party AV equipment using xAPI, GPIO, HDMI\-CEC, HTTP Client, serial, and other interfaces.

· Knowledge of AV signal flow, networking basics relevant to collaboration systems (VLANs, QoS, PoE), and common control protocols.

· Familiarity with Cisco Control Hub for device and macro management.

· Experience with version control (Git) and structured development/testing of scripts.

· Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers.

  • *PREFERRED SKILLS**

· Experience with UI Extensions and In\-Room Controls on Cisco devices.

· Knowledge of related Cisco collaboration technologies (Webex Calling, Control Hub, xAPI Cloud/On\-prem).

· Familiarity with third\-party AV control systems or platforms commonly integrated with Cisco (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q\-SYS, Shure).

· Exposure to divisible/multi\-room configurations and advanced room automation scenarios.

· Basic understanding of web technologies (HTTP APIs, JSON) useful for macro\-to\-service integrations.

· Cisco certifications in Collaboration or related AV/UC credentials (advantageous).

  • *EDUCATION \& SOFT SKILLS**

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent practical experience.

· Strong problem\-solving ability and attention to detail.

· Good communication skills to work with technical and non\-technical stakeholders.

· Ability to work independently as well as in cross\-functional teams.

· Willingness to learn new RoomOS features and AV technologies.

  • *LOCATION \& WORK MODE**

· Base location: Bangalore, India (office\-based).

· Deployment at client locations as per project requirements.

· Willingness to travel to other cities when required.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining light programming with hands\-on AV systems work and wants to build intelligent, customized collaboration experiences on Cisco platforms.
