- *Department:** Digital Water \& Distribution
- *Salary:** As per industry standards
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning \& Operations Support Engineer to lead the testing, hydraulic validation, commissioning, and operational transition phases of water distribution SCADA projects. The role is responsible for ensuring that the physical distribution network is accurately represented within the SCADA system, validating system performance, and equipping operations teams with the knowledge and tools required for efficient digital network management.
- Lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities across the distribution network, including field instrumentation, PLCs, telemetry systems, and SCADA applications.
- Conduct physical loop checks, communication link validation, and hydraulic step\-testing activities to verify network behavior and SCADA response under varying operating conditions.
- Perform hydraulic validation by monitoring pressure transient responses, pump operations, reservoir interactions, and flow conditions during commissioning activities.
- Oversee commissioning of District Metered Area (DMA) boundary valves, Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs), flow meters, and associated control systems to ensure proper zone isolation and monitoring.
- Verify that SCADA displays accurately reflect field conditions, including equipment status, flow measurements, pressure readings, reservoir levels, and network isolation boundaries.
- Validate alarm generation, event logging, and timestamp accuracy for critical events such as pressure drops, pipe bursts, pump trips, communication failures, and reservoir level anomalies.
- Compile red\-line markups and ensure the completion and handover of final as\-built drawings, O\&M manuals, software backups, configuration files, and commissioning records in standardized formats.
- Develop operator training programs and conduct classroom and hands\-on training sessions for CCR operators, maintenance personnel, and field staff.
- Deliver training in local vernacular languages where required, with a focus on SCADA\-based operations, NRW reduction strategies, pressure management, and system troubleshooting.
- Provide Tier\-2 and Tier\-3 technical support during the Defect Liability Period (DLP) and initial O\&M phase, resolving complex operational and system\-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and optimize system performance based on operational feedback and field observations.
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Civil Engineering (with automation exposure), Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in automation system commissioning, testing, and operational support.
- Strong understanding of pipeline hydraulics, water distribution systems, and SCADA\-based operations.
- Experience in SAT execution, system validation, operator training, and documentation management.
- *Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**
- SAT Completion on Schedule
- DMA Boundary Verification Success
- Operator Training Completion (100%)
