  • *Role Overview**

Gate Manufacturing Private Limited is looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented **Senior Costing Engineer** to lead product costing, cost analysis, and commercial costing activities for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in **Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Machining, and Precision Manufacturing industries**, with expertise in raw material costing, process costing, BOM analysis, routing, RFQ costing, and profitability analysis.

The role requires hands\-on experience in evaluating manufacturing costs across fabrication, machining, welding, sheet metal, CNC, tooling, and secondary operations while supporting business decisions, customer quotations, and cost optimization initiatives.

The candidate will work closely with production, engineering, sourcing, SCM, quality, and sales teams to ensure accurate costing models, margin optimization, and commercial feasibility for new and existing products.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • *Product Costing \& Estimation**

· Prepare detailed product costing for fabricated, machined, sheet metal, and assembled components.

· Analyze manufacturing costs including raw material, machining, fabrication, welding, tooling, labor, overheads, and consumables.

· Develop cost sheets based on engineering drawings, BOMs, routing, and customer specifications.

· Prepare RFQ and quotation costing for new business opportunities.

  • *Manufacturing Process Costing**

· Evaluate process\-wise costing for CNC machining, fabrication, sheet metal forming, laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, assembly, and secondary operations.

· Analyze cycle times, machine hour rates, labor cost, setup costs, and productivity assumptions.

· Coordinate with engineering and production teams for process validation and costing accuracy.

  • *Commercial Feasibility \& Pricing**

· Conduct profitability and margin analysis for customer quotations.

· Support pricing decisions based on material fluctuations, conversion costs, and manufacturing feasibility.

· Recommend optimal costing strategies to improve profitability.

· Ensure commercial viability before order acceptance.

  • *BOM \& Cost Structure Management**

· Validate BOMs, material specifications, and routing details for costing accuracy.

· Review and update standard costing structures periodically.

· Maintain accurate costing databases and cost assumptions.

· Analyze standard cost vs actual cost deviations.

  • *Cost Optimization \& Value Engineering**

· Identify cost reduction opportunities across manufacturing processes.

· Work with engineering and production teams for value engineering and alternate process recommendations.

· Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, wastage, cycle time, and non\-value\-added activities.

· Recommend alternate materials, suppliers, and process improvements for cost efficiency.

  • *Vendor \& Supplier Cost Analysis**

· Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for raw material pricing and conversion cost benchmarking.

· Evaluate supplier quotations and manufacturing feasibility.

· Develop cost benchmarking models for fabrication and machining vendors.

· Support supplier negotiations through cost analysis.

  • *Cross Functional Coordination**

· Work closely with Engineering, Production, SCM, Procurement, Finance, and Sales teams for accurate costing inputs.

· Coordinate with NPD and program management teams for new product costing.

· Support customer discussions related to commercial and technical costing clarifications.

  • *MIS, Reporting \& Cost Analysis**

· Prepare detailed costing reports, margin analysis, and profitability reports.

· Monitor actual vs estimated manufacturing costs.

· Present cost variance analysis and improvement opportunities to management.

· Maintain cost dashboards and pricing trackers.

  • *Required Qualifications**
  • *Education:** B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering OR MBA Finance / ICWA / CMA preferred.
  • *Mandatory Experience**

· Strong experience in **Fabrication Costing, Sheet Metal Costing, and Machining Costing**.

· Hands\-on exposure to **CNC machining, fabrication, welding, laser cutting, bending, press operations, assembly, and surface treatment processes**.

· Experience in **RFQ costing, BOM costing, should costing, and product estimation**.

· Knowledge of **machine hour rate calculations, cycle time study, labor costing, and overhead allocation**.

· Strong understanding of **engineering drawings and manufacturing processes**.

· Experience in customer quotation costing and commercial feasibility.
