Are you independent and self\-driven? Do you have sharp analytic skills? We’re looking for someone like that who can:
–work closely with Credit Officers, and perform risk assessment and continuous monitoring of assigned portfolio
–evaluate counterparty credit risk based on good understanding of the counterparty's risk profile, business environment, exposure, and financial performance as well as a number of other quantitative and qualitative measures of counterparties’ credit worthiness (This may include client due diligence via client visit or conference call)
– prepare counterparty reviews/transactional credit proposals drawing conclusions relating to credit assessment, risk appetite, exposure drivers and business prospects
– monitor counterparty and portfolio credit quality, as well as key risk drivers of portfolio credit exposure on a continual basis
– day\-to\-day monitoring of credit exposure against approved limits and parameters
– perform ad hoc credit risk analysis and portfolio deep dive when necessary.
You will be working in the Hedge Fund Credit Risk Control team in Hong Kong and Singapore aligned with the Investment Bank. The team is responsible for the credit assessment, monitoring, control, and transaction decision approval of UBS's counterparties, which primarily encompass hedge funds, and family offices in Asia. Our remit includes counterparty credit analysis and due diligence, limit setting, exposure management and ad hoc trade approvals.
–a university degree in finance or economics, or even engineering or mathematics
–strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
– at least 3 years professional experience in a credit role (with preference of Hedge Funds exposure experience)
–good knowledge and understanding of financial markets, hedge funds, and trading products
–excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate directly and professionally with clients and internal peers is of critical importance to the role
–a team player with strong interpersonal skills to establish trustworthy relationships with internal peers, business, and senior management
–fluent in English (fluent verbal and strong English writing skills)
