Job Description
. Patient Care
- Receive and verify patient identity and requisition form.
- Explain the CT/MRI procedure to the patient.
- Obtain informed consent wherever applicable.
- Prepare patients for the scan and ensure patient comfort.
- Screen patients for contraindications, especially for MRI (pacemakers, implants, metallic objects, pregnancy, etc.).
- Monitor patients during and after the procedure for any adverse reactions.
2\. CT \& MRI Imaging
- Perform CT and MRI examinations as prescribed by the Radiologist.
- Select appropriate scanning protocols according to clinical indications.
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Administer contrast media (where authorized and trained) following hospital protocols.
- Ensure high\-quality image acquisition while minimizing repeat scans.
- Transfer images to PACS/RIS for reporting.
3\. Radiation \& MRI Safety
- Follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles for radiation exposure.
- Ensure proper use of radiation protection devices.
- Enforce MRI safety protocols and maintain a metal\-free MRI zone.
- Verify MRI safety questionnaires before every scan.
- Report any safety incidents immediately.
4\. Infection Prevention \& Control
- Maintain cleanliness of CT/MRI equipment and examination rooms.
- Follow hand hygiene and infection control protocols.
- Disinfect patient tables and accessories after each examination.
- Dispose of biomedical waste as per Biomedical Waste Management Rules.
5\. Equipment Maintenance
- Perform daily equipment quality control checks.
- Monitor machine performance and report faults immediately.
- Coordinate with biomedical engineers for preventive maintenance.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of imaging equipment.
6\. Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Record contrast administration details.
- Document machine downtime and maintenance logs.
- Maintain emergency drug and crash cart checklists.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient records.
7\. Emergency Management
- Recognize adverse reactions to contrast media.
- Assist in medical emergencies and Basic Life Support (BLS) when required.
- Immediately inform the Radiologist of any emergency.
8\. Quality Assurance
- Follow NABH and AERB guidelines.
- Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain departmental SOPs and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies.
9\. Communication
- Coordinate with Radiologists, clinicians, nursing staff, and reception.
- Communicate delays or technical issues promptly.
- Provide courteous and professional patient service.
10\. Administrative Responsibilities
- Verify investigation requests before scanning.
- Maintain stock of contrast media and consumables.
- Report inventory shortages.
- Assist in scheduling patients efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety at all times.
- Produce high\-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain equipment and documentation.
- Comply with NABH, AERB, and hospital policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide excellent patient care and communication.
Qualification
- Diploma/B.Sc. in Radiology Imaging Technology or Medical Imaging Technology.
- Valid registration (where applicable).
Experience
- **2–5 years:** CT/MRI Technician
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CT \& MRI scanning protocols.
- Understanding of anatomy and pathology.
- MRI and radiation safety knowledge.
- Infection control practices.
- Good communication and patient handling skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge.
- Computer and PACS/RIS proficiency.
- Ability to work in shifts and emergency situations.
Pay: ₹8,634\.14 \- ₹22,000\.36 per month
