  • *About the Role**

We are looking for a hands\-on **Data Center Engineer** to support data center infrastructure deployment and operations in **Nagpur, India**. This role will be focused on physical layer data center work, including rack and stack, structured cabling, hardware installation, labeling, documentation, asset tracking, and coordination with internal teams, OEMs, vendors, and customers.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in live data center environments and will bring strong practical experience with server, storage, network hardware, fiber and copper cabling, physical connectivity, and operational documentation. This role is well suited to someone who is detail\-oriented, safety\-conscious, and able to take ownership of onsite implementation and support activities.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Perform rack and stack activities for servers, storage, network devices, PDUs, and related data center infrastructure.
  • Carry out structured cabling work, including fiber and copper patching, routing, labeling, cable management, and connectivity validation.
  • Support hardware installation, device replacement, physical troubleshooting, and infrastructure deployment activities within the data center environment.
  • Maintain accurate rack elevations, port maps, cable labels, asset records, and CMDB/DCIM documentation.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, facilities teams, customers, and internal engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery and issue resolution.
  • Support incident and change activities, including planned maintenance windows, deployments, audits, cutovers, and emergency support when required.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and updated in a timely manner after installations, changes, and handovers.
  • Follow data center safety standards, ESD practices, access procedures, and operational guidelines at all times.
  • *Required Skills and Experience**
  • Diploma, BE, B.Tech, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
  • 2–5 years of hands\-on data center infrastructure experience.
  • Practical experience with rack and stack, hardware installation, structured cabling, cable labeling, and physical infrastructure support.
  • Knowledge of network L1/L2 basics, optics, PDUs, UPS, and physical connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with fiber and copper cabling, including LC/SC/MPO fiber and Cat6/Cat6A copper patching.
  • Good understanding of data center operational processes, ticketing/change management, inventory tracking, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently onsite while coordinating effectively with remote engineering teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting mindset, communication skills, and time management.
  • *Preferred Certifications**
  • CompTIA Server\+ or Network\+
  • BICSI Installer/Technician certification
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
  • *Physical and Travel Requirements**
  • Comfortable working in a data center environment, including hardware handling, cabling, and maintenance windows.
  • Able to lift approximately 20–25 kg safely where required.
  • May require local travel between data centers, customer sites, office locations, or PoPs.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required for deployments, audits, training, emergency support, or major cutovers.
