Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Databricks Architect with strong data engineering skills, deep AWS cloud expertise, and a proven track record in solution design and productionizing Generative AI and Agentic workflows.

To lead the design, discovery, and deployment of AI\-powered data products on the Databricks Lakehouse platform.

This role is responsible for ensuring that data architecture seamlessly supports production\-grade AI, ensuring scalability, security, and high\-fidelity business value.

Lead the technical strategy for the next generation of data platforms—integrating LLMs, AI Agents, and Natural Language Interfaces (Genie) into the enterprise fabric.

Specialist in bridging the gap between complex data engineering and actionable AI, with the ability to frame, scope, and estimate high\-stakes AI transformations.

Primary Responsibilities

• AI Discovery \& Framing: Lead workshops to identify high\-impact AI use cases, defining the "Art of the Possible" while grounding expectations in technical feasibility and data readiness.
• AI Scoping \& Estimation: Create detailed technical roadmaps and effort estimations for AI projects, including RAG (Retrieval\-Augmented Generation) architectures, fine\-tuning, and Agentic workflows.
• RFP \& Solution Strategy: Drive the AI/Data section of RFP responses, designing comprehensive solutions that include model selection, vector database strategy, and governance for GenAI.
• Productionizing AI Agents: Design and deploy production\-grade AI Agents using the Mosaic AI Agent Framework, ensuring robust tool\-calling, reasoning capabilities, and evaluation loops.
• Self\-Service AI (Genie): Implement and tune Databricks AI/BI Genie spaces to enable non\-technical stakeholders to query data using natural language with high accuracy.
• RAG \& Vector Search: Design end\-to\-end RAG pipelines using Databricks Vector Search, ensuring seamless integration with Delta Lake for real\-time data freshness.
• Model Serving \& LLMOps: Operationalize models using Databricks Model Serving, implementing LLM monitoring, evaluation (Mosaic AI Agent Evaluation), and CI/CD for AI assets.
• Core Architecture: Lead the design of data products and medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) specifically optimized for AI consumption.
• Governance \& Security: Implement Unity Catalog for AI, managing permissions for models, vector indexes, and ensuring GDPR/SOX compliance for AI\-driven data movement.

Technical Skills Required

• AI/GenAI Mastery: Proven experience with Mosaic AI, Agent Framework, Vector Search, and MLflow.
• LLM Integration: Hands\-on experience productionizing LLMs (Llama or Databricks Model Serving).
• AI\-Driven Development: Mastery in using AI code assistants (Gemini Code Assist, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code) to accelerate delivery.
• Data Engineering: Deep mastery in PySpark, SQL, Python, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• AWS Cloud Expert: Expert knowledge of S3, Lambda, Bedrock, VPC networking, and IAM for secure AI workloads.
• DevOps/LLMOps: Strong foundation in Terraform and CI/CD for automating both infra and AI model deployments.
• Data Modeling: Advanced Lakehouse and Data Mesh principles, with a focus on preparing data for AI "readiness."

Qualifications

• 10\+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering and IT architecture.
• Proven Track Record: Minimum 2\+ years specifically productionizing AI solutions (moving beyond PoC to live, governed enterprise environments).
• Minimum 4\+ years hands\-on with Databricks at production scale.
• Demonstrated success in leading RFP technical tracks, scoping complex projects, and delivering high\-accuracy estimations.

Soft Skills

• Extremely Good Communication: Ability to translate "AI hype" into practical business strategy for C\-suite stakeholders while maintaining deep technical credibility with engineers.
• AI Ethics \& Governance Mindset: Proactive approach to AI safety, bias mitigation, and cost\-control (FinOps for AI).
• Strategic Influence: Ability to influence architectural decisions at an enterprise level and drive the adoption of new AI features.
• Continuous Innovation: A mindset focused on staying ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and integrating the latest Databricks/AWS innovations into the roadmap.
