Job Summary

We are looking for a technically sound and detail\-oriented **Design Engineer – MEP** to join our Design \& Engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering designs, developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), coordinating with internal departments, identifying value engineering opportunities, and supporting project execution through accurate technical documentation and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• *1\. Design \& Engineering**

• Prepare engineering designs and drawings based on approved project plans, architectural drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
• Ensure designs are technically accurate, practical, coordinated, and suitable for site execution.
• Review drawings and technical documents to identify discrepancies and resolve design\-related issues.

• *2\. BOQ Preparation**

• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on approved drawings, designs, specifications, and project scope.
• Coordinate with the Estimation, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure BOQs reflect the actual design requirements.
• Review quantities and technical details to minimize errors and material wastage.

• *3\. Value Engineering**

• Identify and recommend cost\-effective design alternatives and value engineering solutions.
• Support improvements in system performance, material utilization, and project efficiency without compromising quality, safety, or applicable standards.

• *4\. Design \& Project Coordination**

• Coordinate with the Design Manager, Project Team, Site Team, Estimation Team, Procurement Team, and other concerned departments.
• Clarify technical requirements and resolve design discrepancies to support smooth project execution.
• Ensure timely completion and submission of assigned drawings, BOQs, and technical documents.

• *5\. Client \& Consultant Coordination**

• Prepare draft emails, technical submissions, and communications for review and approval by the reporting authority.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address client and consultant queries.
• Follow up on technical clarifications, drawing approvals, and other project\-related requirements until closure.

• *6\. Documentation \& Compliance**

• Maintain accurate design documents, BOQs, technical records, and project\-related correspondence.
• Follow company SOPs, established quality standards, project timelines, and instructions from the reporting manager.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge and undertake additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design, technical drawings, BOQ preparation, and project requirements.
• Understanding of MEP systems and fire\-fighting services will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ZW Software.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and coordination abilities.
• Positive attitude, confidence, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.

Reporting Structure

The Design Engineer will report to the concerned Design Manager or other designated reporting authority and shall obtain the necessary approvals for official requests in accordance with company policies.
