Developer III - Software Engineering

• **Summary:***

• UST is looking for a skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to own the development, maintenance, and deployment of an enterprise FastAPI web application, managing everything from RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL databases to Azure infrastructure and secure secrets management.*

• **The Opportunity:***

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Uvicorn with a primary focus on backend development. · Implement JWT\-based authentication (python\-jose) and OAuth2 flows using Authlib. · Integrate with LDAP / Active Directory using ldap3 for enterprise SSO and user authentication. · Design and manage SQLAlchemy ORM models, Pydantic schemas, and database migrations using Alembic. · Process and ingest data from Excel and CSV sources using Pandas and openpyxl. · Write secure, maintainable Python 3\.10\+ following established engineering best practices. · Design and manage PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, query optimization, and complex SQL queries. · Perform routine database maintenance, migrations, backups, cleanup, and data reconciliation using psycopg2 and SQLAlchemy Core / ORM. · Provision Azure infrastructure using Terraform and manage deployments. · Secure applications by managing and rotating secrets using HashiCorp Vault and Azure Key Vault. · Manage TLS/SSL certificates, enterprise PKI chains, and corporate proxy configurations.*

• **What you need:***

• 5–6 years of hands\-on experience in full stack software development with a strong emphasis on backend technologies. · Proven experience deploying and managing workloads on Microsoft Azure. · Proven experience integrating applications with secrets\-management platforms like HashiCorp Vault and Azure Key Vault. · Strong understanding of HTTP, REST API design principles, and web security fundamentals. · Proven ability to work independently, own end\-to\-end delivery, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.*

• **Required Skills:***

• Python 3\.10\+, FastAPI, Uvicorn, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and Alembic · PostgreSQL database design, management, and query optimization (psycopg2\) · Authentication \& Security (JWT, OAuth2, Authlib, python\-jose, LDAP/Active Directory integration via ldap3\) · Infrastructure \& Cloud (Microsoft Azure, Terraform) · Secrets \& Certificate Management (HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, TLS/SSL, OpenSSL, enterprise PKI) · Data Processing (Pandas, openpyxl for Excel/CSV ingestion)*

• **Desired Skills:***

• Frontend development experience with Angular · Experience with container runtime secret injection patterns (Vault Agent, CSI driver) · Understanding of corporate proxy configurations*

• **Qualification:***

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).*
