The **Card Tech\+** organization at Capital One is the massive, diverse, and globally distributed technology engine that powers spending for customers across Upmarket, Mainstreet, Business, International, and Partnerships segments. With associates spread out globally, we build world\-class technology focused on removing friction, unleashing speed, and driving efficiency to create outstanding customer experiences.

Our work is structured around five critical towers

• **Digital Commerce \& Innovation Tech** modernizes customer spending on devices and online, focusing on payment innovation, fraud reduction, and platforms like Loyalty and Capital One Travel Tech.
• **Card Intelligent Decisions and Experiences (CIDX)** creates real\-time, intelligent customer experiences through platforms for Authorizations, Decisioning, and Machine Learning.
• **Core, Payments \& Partnerships Tech** transforms our foundational Core lending, Inbound Payments, and Partnerships platforms, including the Discover Integration Planning.
• **Servicing, Business, and International** paves the way for business growth and global expansion while providing world\-class customer servicing, fraud protection, and leveraging data and ML.

Distinguished Engineers are individual contributors expected to solve problems in a fast\-paced, collaborative, and iterative software development environment. In order to meet these demands, candidates should be influential engineering leaders with deep technology expertise, and a collaborative style that brings others into the decision\-making process. Distinguished Engineers will significantly impact the Tech agenda within their organization and devise clear roadmaps to deliver next generation technology solutions across organizational boundaries. This is a senior individual contributor leadership role spanning across Capital One India Tech organization.

• *Responsibilities:**

• Build awareness, increase knowledge and drive adoption of modern technologies, sharing consumer and engineering benefits to gain buy\-in.
• Strike the right balance between lending expertise and providing an inclusive environment where others’ ideas can be heard and championed; leverage expertise to grow skills in the broader Capital One team.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence, using opportunities to reuse and innersource solutions where possible.
• Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization.
• Operate as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in an unified manner.
• Lead the way in creating next\-generation talent for Tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One’s Tech talent.

• *Basic Qualifications:**

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• At least 13 years of experience in software development.
• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies.

• *Preferred Qualifications:**

• Master’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• 10\+ years of experience of working with business leaders on the implications of architectural decisions.
• 10\+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support.
• 4\+ years building cloud native architecture, architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms and cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP or Azure).
