R\&D \- Mobility Solutions
Bengaluru (On\-Site)
Associate Level
Job Description
ideaForge is a leading pioneer in India’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) market with widespread deployment across the country.
Its drones support surveillance and mapping, with one UAV taking off every five minutes on average. Ranked 3rd globally in dual\-use drone manufacturing (civil and defense), it has enabled over 8,50,000 successful flights. With strong in\-house design and innovation, it delivers reliable, mission\-focused UAV solutions tailored to customer needs.
The Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing flight control software for UAV systems. The role involves designing and validating control algorithms, performing SITL/HITL simulations, and integrating avionics hardware and software to ensure safe, stable, and reliable flight operations.
The Engineer will work on flight dynamics, control systems, firmware customization, mathematical modeling, and system\-level testing. Responsibilities also include flight data analysis, support for flight testing, troubleshooting, and continuous performance improvement through simulation and validation.
- *Designation** \- Engineer I
- *Experience** \- 3 to 5 years
- *Qualification** \- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electronics / Avionics Engineering / Robotics or related field
- *Location** \- Marathalli / KIADB Aerospace Park, Bengaluru
- *Key Responsibilities \-**
- Flight Modeling \& Simulation: Preparing a high\-fidelity mathematical model for VTOL \- Transition \- Fixed Wing UAS in MATLAB/Simulink involves creating a 6\-Degrees\-of\-Freedom (6DOF) nonlinear plant that incorporates detailed aerodynamic, propulsion, atmospheric models and etc.
- Preparing a mid\-fidelity mathematical model for VTOL \- Transition \- Fixed Wing UAS in Xplane involves creating a 6\-Degrees\-of\-Freedom (6DOF) nonlinear plant that incorporates detailed aerodynamic, propulsion, atmospheric models, etc.
- Configure and tune (PID tuning) control systems for stability and performance.
- Data Analysis \& Optimization: Compare real flight data with simulation results, identify performance gaps and suggest improvements and update models based on test findings.
- Risk \& Failure Analysis: Simulate failure cases and validate system response, work on fault modeling and redundancy strategies and ensure safety and reliability of UAV systems.
