Job Summary

The Production Engineer – EBM \& ISBM is responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling production activities of Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) and Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) machines to ensure production targets, product quality, machine efficiency, and safety standards are achieved. The role involves optimizing production processes, minimizing downtime, reducing rejection, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and quality systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations

• Plan and supervise daily production activities of EBM and ISBM machines.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Ensure smooth production startup, machine changeovers, and shutdown activities.
• Coordinate with planning, maintenance, quality, and stores departments for uninterrupted production.

Process Optimization

• Set and optimize machine parameters for different bottle, jar, and container sizes.
• Reduce cycle time while maintaining product quality.
• Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve productivity through process improvements and kaizen initiatives.
• Optimize raw material consumption and reduce wastage.

Quality Control

• Ensure production of products as per approved quality standards.
• Monitor critical quality parameters including:
• Weight
• Dimensions
• Neck finish
• Wall thickness
• Leak testing
• Visual appearance
• Burst strength (where applicable)
• Coordinate with QA/QC for quality inspections and process validations.
• Ensure proper handling of non\-conforming products.

Machine \& Equipment Management

• Monitor performance of EBM and ISBM machines.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team.
• Report machine abnormalities and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain machine history and production records.

Manpower Management

• Supervise operators, setters, helpers, and shift technicians.
• Allocate manpower according to production plans.
• Train operators on SOPs, machine operation, safety, and quality requirements.
• Evaluate operator performance and recommend skill improvements.

Production Documentation

• Maintain daily production reports.
• Record production output, rejection, downtime, and machine efficiency.
• Maintain shift handover reports.
• Update process parameter sheets.
• Ensure proper documentation as per ISO/BRC/FSSC/GMP requirements (if applicable).

Safety \& Compliance

• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and PPE compliance.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections.
• Follow 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Required Skills \& CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) process.
• Strong knowledge of Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) process.
• Machine setting and parameter optimization.
• Mould changeover and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PET, HDPE, PP, LDPE, and other plastic resins.
• Production planning and process control.
• OEE, TPM, 5S, Lean Manufacturing.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why Analysis.
• Knowledge of quality tools and statistical process control (SPC).

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Plastic Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• **Production Engineer:** 2–8 years of experience in Plastic Packaging Manufacturing.
• Hands\-on experience in both **Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM)** and **Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM)** operations is preferred.
• Experience with PET bottles, HDPE containers, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, FMCG, or food packaging is an added advantage.

Pay: ₹300,000\.00 \- ₹600,000\.00 per year
