Finance Controller

We are hiring a seasoned **Finance Controller** for a fast\-growing, founder\-driven, SEBI\-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) platform operating in the private credit and investment space.

This is a high\-impact leadership opportunity for a finance professional who can combine strong financial governance, fund accounting, regulatory compliance and commercial acumen with the ability to build scalable finance processes.

The position offers a potential progression to **Chief Financial Officer (CFO)** as the platform grows.

Key Responsibilities

• *1\. Financial Control \& Reporting**

• Lead financial accounting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Oversee financial statements, cash\-flow management, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Develop robust MIS dashboards and provide actionable financial insights to leadership.
• Establish scalable financial processes, reporting systems and governance frameworks.

• *2\. Fund Finance \& Operations**

• Oversee fund accounting, capital calls, distributions, investor reporting and fund\-level reconciliations.
• Coordinate NAV calculations, fund valuations and related reporting processes.
• Monitor fund expenses, cash flows and financial performance.
• Support fund structuring, new fund launches and financial due diligence.

• *3\. Taxation, Audit \& Regulatory Compliance**

• Ensure compliance with applicable SEBI AIF regulations, accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee direct and indirect taxation, including Income Tax, GST, TDS and relevant fund\-related tax obligations.
• Manage statutory, internal and fund audits.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, trustees, custodians and other external stakeholders.

• *4\. Strategic Finance \& Leadership**

• Partner closely with founders and senior leadership on financial planning, capital management and business decisions.
• Support fundraising initiatives, investor reporting and financial presentations.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management and financial governance.
• Build and mentor a high\-performing finance function.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified **Chartered Accountant (CA)**; additional qualifications such as CFA or MBA Finance would be advantageous.
• **18–20 years of progressive finance experience**, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Strong preference for experience in **AIFs, private credit, private equity, asset management, NBFCs or investment management platforms**.
• Hands\-on understanding of fund accounting, investor reporting, taxation, audits and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience establishing financial controls, MIS and scalable finance operations.
• Strong analytical ability, business judgement and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast\-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
