A Senior Accountant manages complex accounting operations, drives the month\-end and year\-end close processes, and ensures financial compliance. They analyze financial data, perform general ledger reconciliations, and mentor junior staff to support executive decision\-making and uphold corporate financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
**Financial Reporting:** Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
**General Ledger:** Reconcile balance sheet and inter company accounts, prepare journal entries, and manage accruals and prepayments.
**Month/Year\-End Close:** Lead the close process to ensure all financial data is accurate, reconciled, and delivered on schedule.
**Compliance \& Audits:** Ensure full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Coordinate and provide support for internal and external audits.
**Analysis \& Budgeting:** Assist in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management.
**Leadership:** Review the work of junior accountants and bookkeepers, delegate tasks, and assist in team development.
Essential Requirements
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/CMA designation preferred).
**Experience:** 3\+ to 5\+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
**Soft Skills:** Exceptional analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills with a strong eye for detail.
