*About the Company** We are a 10\-year\-old B2B e\-commerce company headquartered in Singapore and with operations in the Philippines, built around one mission: **helping small, independent grocery stores compete and thrive** \- through better procurement, logistics and access to financing. Over a decade, we've grown into a significant business in the Philippines \- over 3,000 people, tens of thousands of small store owners served, and backed by **KKR, Temasek and IFC**, among others. A year ago, we brought the model to India. The opportunity here is large and the problem is familiar: millions of Kirana stores are underserved by formal distribution and cut off from the financial tools they need to grow. We started in Kolkata. We've been setting up the business from scratch \- finding a warehouse, hiring the first team, experimenting and figuring out what actually works with Indian Kirana stores, and getting the unit economics to a place we're comfortable with. That part is done **We are now ready to scale.** **The Opportunity** What we need now is someone to take what we've built and run with it. Not manage it \- **grow it**. From one part of Kolkata, to all of Kolkata, to West Bengal, to East India and beyond. You'll report directly to the founders. No layers, no committees, no one to hide behind \- but also no one slowing you down. The Philippines playbook exists and you're welcome to use it but the decisions that matter will be yours to make. **What You Will Own** Full P\&L responsibility for the India business. Every dimension of it. **Operations** * Running and scaling warehouse and last\-mile delivery operations in Kolkata and beyond * Managing a workforce that starts at \~50 people and will grow to several hundred as you scale * Managing a trucking fleet to support deliveries * Keeping operational discipline and unit economics intact as you expand **Demand and Growth** * Acquiring and retaining Kirana store customers across your geographies * Building and managing the ground\-level team that makes this happen **Commercial** * Owning supplier relationships — mostly FMCG companies * Building trade and visibility programs that generate revenue from those relationships **People \& HR** * Hiring and managing across levels — from warehouse staff and delivery executives to city managers and functional leads * Building a culture that's lean, high\-ownership and performance\-driven without being bureaucratic **Finance** * Owning the India P\&L — revenues, costs, margins, working capital * Working closely with the parent company's finance team on reporting, planning and controls **Geographic Expansion** * Executing the rollout from North Kolkata → full Kolkata → West Bengal → East India and beyond * Each new geography means standing up a full operational, acquisition and procurement footprint — this is as much a logistics challenge as it is a commercial one **Tech \& Product** * Technology and product are built at the parent company level * Your job is to localise, implement and feed ground\-level insight back into the India roadmap **What We Are Looking For** **Experience \& Background** * You've run a business, geography or large operational unit with **direct P\&L responsibility**. You know what it means to own a number, not just contribute to one * You come from FMCG, grocery, quick commerce, B2B e\-commerce or supply chain \- companies like Blinkit, Zepto, Udaan, Jumbotail, Metro, or a large FMCG distributor are the kinds of backgrounds we're thinking about * You've had **direct management responsibility for blue and grey collar workforces** \- warehouses, delivery fleets, field sales teams. This is not negotiable * You're senior enough to set direction and willing to do the work yourself when the team needs it **Skills \& Qualities** * Operational rigour \- you build systems and processes, not just relationships * Commercial acumen \- you understand margins, cost structures, customer economics and what drives a distribution business * People leadership \- you attract strong people, develop them, and create accountability without layers * You make decisions without waiting for perfect information or perfect resources * You're motivated by the scale of what this could become, not just the safety of what it is today **Preferred but not mandatory** * Familiarity with the East India / Bengal market * Bengali language skills * Prior experience in an early\-stage or scaling environment **Who we’re excited to hear from** There is no single profile we're looking for. These are some types of people we think could be exceptional in this role. **Former Entrepreneur** You've built something in logistics, wholesale, grocery or e\-commerce. You know what it takes to start from zero and you're ready to do it again .. this time with institutional backing, an existing playbook and a large market in front of you. **Senior Operator in Tech or Commerce** You're a senior leader inside a logistics, e\-commerce, B2B or retail business. You've have strong instincts for what makes these models work and you're ready to run something yourself. **FMCG Leader or Consultant** You've spent years inside a regional or national FMCG company — in sales, distribution or trade — or advising them. You know the Kirana channel, you understand the distributor ecosystem, and you see the gap we're building into. **The Career Path** You're joining when the India business is small but the ambition is large. **If you scale this well**, the natural path is into a national leadership role — effectively Country Head for a business operating across India's major cities. If your strengths turn out to be strongest in a particular domain or geography, there's also a real path as **Regional Head for East India** or as a **National Functional Leader** in Operations or Commercial — both of which will be substantial roles as the business grows.
