• *1\. About the Role**

Distinct Infotech Solutions is looking for an experienced **Head of Engineering** to lead its engineering function, drive technology strategy, and oversee the architecture, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with engineering leadership capabilities, ensuring scalable and secure application architecture, efficient development processes, high\-quality delivery, and continuous innovation.

The role requires someone capable of leading engineering teams, managing technical roadmaps, making critical architectural decisions, mentoring technical leaders, and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.

• *2\. Key Responsibilities**

A. Engineering Leadership \& Management

• Lead and manage the overall engineering and software development function.
• Define engineering strategies, technical roadmaps, and development priorities aligned with business goals.
• Build, mentor, and manage engineering teams, including Technical Managers, Tech Leads, Architects, and Developers.
• Establish engineering standards, coding practices, development methodologies, and quality benchmarks.
• Drive team productivity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Identify resource requirements, allocate technical resources, and support recruitment and team development.
• Conduct technical performance reviews and support career development of engineering team members.

B. Solution Architecture \& Technical Strategy

• Design and govern end\-to\-end architecture for scalable, secure, and high\-performing enterprise applications.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and architectural designs.
• Define application, integration, infrastructure, and deployment architectures.
• Lead architectural decisions involving Microservices, Event\-Driven Architecture, Domain\-Driven Design (DDD), and distributed systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools and conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Ensure architectural consistency, reusability, scalability, and maintainability across projects.

C. Software Development \& Delivery Management

• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirement analysis and planning to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality and technical standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technical teams.
• Monitor development progress, identify delivery bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures.
• Establish Agile/Scrum practices and improve development efficiency.
• Oversee code reviews, testing strategies, deployment processes, and production support.

D. Technology \& Cloud Infrastructure

• Drive cloud architecture and infrastructure strategy across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Guide containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure system scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
• Define database architecture and integration strategies across SQL and NoSQL platforms.

E. Technical Governance \& Security

• Establish technical governance frameworks and enforce engineering best practices.
• Ensure compliance with application security standards and organizational policies.
• Oversee authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, and performance evaluations.
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving system reliability and maintainability.

F. Innovation \& Emerging Technologies

• Drive technology innovation and evaluate new tools, platforms, and development approaches.
• Explore AI\-powered applications, automation, LLM integrations, AI agents, and Retrieval\-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Encourage adoption of modern engineering practices and technology\-driven solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology.

G. Stakeholder \& Business Collaboration

• Work closely with senior management and business stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Participate in client discussions, technical presentations, solution proposals, and architecture reviews.
• Support technical estimations, project feasibility assessments, and resource planning.
• Communicate engineering progress, risks, and strategic recommendations to management.

H. Technical Documentation

• Ensure the preparation and maintenance of Architecture Design Documents (ADD), Technical Design Documents (TDD), API specifications, infrastructure diagrams, deployment documentation, and engineering standards.

• *3\. Required Technical Skills**

• Strong expertise in Enterprise Software Architecture and Application Design.
• Microservices, Event\-Driven Architecture, Domain\-Driven Design (DDD), and Distributed Systems.
• Strong programming background in .NET / ASP.NET Core, C\#, Java, Node.js, or Python.
• REST API design, API Gateway, system integration, and performance optimization.
• Cloud architecture experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
• SQL and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Security practices including OAuth, JWT, SSO, and secure coding standards.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications, LLMs, AI agents, and automation is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID Principles, and software engineering best practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• 12–18\+ years of overall software development and engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture, or Engineering Leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing enterprise software development.
• Experience designing and implementing large\-scale, cloud\-based applications.
• Strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Previous experience managing technical teams, engineering delivery, and architectural governance.

6\. Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• TOGAF Certification.
• Kubernetes Certification (CKA / CKAD).
• Scrum Certification (CSM / PSM).

Pay: ₹100,000\.00 \- ₹350,000\.00 per month
