Head – Quality Control \& Quality Assurance (Foundry)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Head – Quality Control \& Quality Assurance to lead the complete quality function of our foundry operations. The role will be responsible for ensuring product quality, metallurgical compliance, process control, customer satisfaction, and adherence to international quality standards for export markets.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in iron foundries, casting quality, metallurgical testing, customer audits, root cause analysis, and quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the complete QA/QC department, including quality engineers, inspectors, and laboratory personnel.
- Monitor and reduce foundry rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Analyze casting defects such as shrinkage, blowholes, gas defects, sand inclusions, cracks, and dimensional deviations.
- Oversee chemical and physical testing laboratories, including spectrometer and metallurgical testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ASTM, DIN, EN, ISO, and other applicable standards.
- Monitor and control sand parameters, process quality, and metallurgical consistency.
- Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, and other quality tools.
- Handle customer audits, quality audits, and certification audits.
- Support New Product Development (NPD), PPAP submissions, Control Plans, PFMEA, and quality documentation.
- Ensure proper traceability of raw materials, heats, batches, and finished products.
- Coordinate with Production, Foundry, Maintenance, Purchase, and Dispatch teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
- Manage supplier quality performance and conduct vendor quality evaluations when required.
Required Experience
- 12\+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within an Iron Foundry environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading a QA/QC team.
- Strong experience in Grey Iron and/or Ductile Iron castings.
- Experience handling export customers, customer complaints, and audit requirements.
- Exposure to automated moulding lines, core shop operations, and foundry process control will be preferred.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Quality Management, NDT, or Foundry Technology will be an advantage.
