- *Job Description: Head \- STEM Curriculum \& Learning**
- *Organization:** Yardstick Educational Initiatives
- *Location:** **Hyderabad**, India
- *Work Mode:** Work from Office
- *About Yardstick \& BeeCurious**
Yardstick Educational Initiatives is the organisation behind BeeCurious — a STEM education initiative dedicated to making learning engaging, experiential, and future\-ready for school students. Through hands\-on STEM programs, project\-based learning experiences, and innovative educational solutions, BeeCurious helps students develop critical thinking, creativity, problem\-solving, and innovation skills.
We partner with schools to deliver high\-quality STEM learning experiences that complement classroom education and prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow. Our stakeholders include school leaders, principals, educators, students, and parents who share our vision of transforming learning through curiosity\-driven education.
We are looking for a candidate to own and lead the end\-to\-end development of BeeCurious's product portfolio. This is a senior, hands\-on leadership role that sits at the intersection of science, pedagogy, curriculum design, and production.
You will be accountable for the full lifecycle of every BeeCurious product — from the conceptualisation of a hands\-on activity to the final manufactured kit, and from the student worksheet to the teacher manual. You will lead a team of activity designers, curriculum developers, and content creators, and you will hold yourself and your team to high standards of scientific rigour, educational quality, and operational discipline.
This role is for someone who is deeply curious about how the natural world works, equally passionate about how students learn, and organised enough to bring both into a product that performs reliably in a real classroom.
- *Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy \& Roadmap**
- Define and own the product roadmap across subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics) and grade levels.
- Identify gaps in the current portfolio and propose new activities aligned with curriculum standards and classroom realities.
- Prioritise the development pipeline based on educational value, curriculum alignment, and production feasibility.
- *Activity Design \& Critical Review**
- Lead the conceptualisation of new hands\-on science and mathematics activities.
- Critically review activities at every stage of design — identifying scientific inaccuracies, pedagogical weaknesses, or practical limitations — and provide specific, constructive recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee iterative prototyping and testing, ensuring that each activity functions reliably and safely in a classroom setting before it moves to production.
- Collaborate with the in\-house product design expert to translate validated concepts into production\-ready, kit\-packaged form.
- *Curriculum Development \& Standards Alignment**
- Map activity design to recognised curriculum frameworks, including NCERT, ICSE, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
- Ensure student worksheets follow a clear pedagogical flow: guided construction, structured observation, data recording, and inquiry\-based questions using the Claim–Evidence–Reasoning framework.
- Ensure teacher manuals provide complete facilitation guidance, pedagogical context, safety notes, and answer keys.
- Review and guide the curriculum writing work of the team to ensure scientific accuracy and educational effectiveness across all content.
- Ensure that the bill of materials for each activity kit — specifying every raw material, quantity, and its relationship to the finished product — is systematically defined and maintained by the team.
- Oversee that all material calculations, kit specifications, and component data are accurate, documented, and organised.
- Ensure product mapping data across activity modules, components, and curriculum alignment is well\-maintained and accessible.
- Guide and support the production and supply teams; set clear guidelines when new processes are introduced or existing ones need revision.
- While the team executes the operational detail, the Product Head steps in directly whenever needed — this is a role for someone who gets things done, not just oversees them.
- *Project Management \& Process Discipline**
- Own the timelines for all product development work and ensure the team delivers against them.
- Drive rigorous planning across the team: break down projects into clearly defined tasks, assign ownership, track progress, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Establish, document, and enforce processes for activity development, review cycles, and production handover.
- Maintain the team's project management system accurately and consistently — and expect the same from everyone on the team.
- Take full accountability for the quality and completeness of every deliverable before it moves to the next stage.
- Build, inspire, and mentor a team working across activity design, curriculum development, and content creation.
- Set clear briefs, conduct structured reviews, and give feedback that is specific, constructive, and actionable.
- Create a team culture where intellectual curiosity, rigour, and accountability coexist — where people are energised by the work and take it seriously.
- Model the discipline and consistency you expect: systematic in approach, timely in execution, thorough in follow\-through.
- *Cross\-Functional Collaboration**
- Coordinate with the supply and production teams to ensure materials meet design specifications and are consistently available.
- Work with sales and marketing to ensure that product descriptions and positioning reflect the depth and quality of what is being built.
- **Scientifically curious and self\-motivated** You are innately curious about how the natural world works. You find joy in understanding phenomena — why a coil rotates, why a balloon car moves, how energy transforms — and you are equally excited to help others experience that same understanding. You do not need to be told to explore something; you just do.
- **Passionate about how students learn** You understand experiential and hands\-on learning not just as a philosophy but as a practical method. You can articulate why a well\-designed activity helps a student grasp a concept in a way a textbook cannot, and you apply that understanding to every product decision you make.
- **A critical thinker who gives constructive feedback** You can look at work in progress — an activity design, a worksheet draft, a kit prototype — and clearly identify what is not working and why. More importantly, you can tell your team what to do differently. Your feedback is specific, reasoned, and useful.
- **Organised and process\-driven** You believe in planning. You think in systems, document your processes, and make sure the people around you operate with the same clarity. You are comfortable with project management tools and data, and you keep things organised without being asked to.
- **A go\-getter** You take ownership — not just of your own tasks but of outcomes. When something is stuck, you fix it. When something is missing, you make sure it gets done. You are proactive, resourceful, and not the kind of person who waits for direction before acting.
- **A disciplined and inspiring leader** You lead by example — in your punctuality, your preparation, and your follow\-through. You create an environment where your team is energised, held to high standards, and supported to do their best work.
- *Essential Requirements**
The following are mandatory qualifications for this role. Applications that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.
- **Education:** Master's degree in Physics **or** a Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering.
- **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product development, curriculum development, or a related field — with demonstrable ownership of end\-to\-end projects.
- Experience in K–12 education, EdTech, or STEM product development.
- Familiarity with curriculum frameworks such as NCERT, ICSE, or NGSS.
- Experience writing inquiry\-based curriculum, student worksheets, or teacher guides.
- Exposure to production processes or manufacturing in an educational products context.
- Working knowledge of project management tools (experience with ClickUp is an added advantage).
BeeCurious is building something rare: a science education product that students genuinely want to interact with, that teachers feel confident using, and that makes abstract concepts tangible through hands\-on experience. Every kit that leaves our facility represents months of scientific thinking, curriculum design, prototyping, and iteration — and as Product Head, you will be at the centre of all of it.
This is an opportunity to do creative, meaningful work that has a direct impact on how students across India experience science. You will collaborate with a team of passionate educators, designers, and makers, contribute to a growing product portfolio, and help define what hands\-on science education can look like at scale.
If you care about science, about learning, and about building things that matter — this is the role for you.
