Job Description

  • *People Are at the Heart of Impact.**
  • *At Lighthouse Communities Foundation, our work is about creating opportunities for young people.**
  • *But sustainable impact doesn't happen without the people behind it.**

Great Centre Heads.

Committed facilitators.

Passionate outreach teams.

Strong program leaders.

People who show up every day because they believe the work matters.

  • *We're looking for an HR Business Partner who can help these people thrive.**

This is a hands\-on, field\-facing HR role where you'll work closely with leaders and teams across Hyderabad, understand what is happening on the ground, solve people challenges, strengthen HR practices, and help build a culture where employees can do their best work.

If you see HR as more than policies and processes — and believe that **strong people practices create stronger social impact** — this could be your opportunity.

  • *About Lighthouse Communities Foundation**
  • *Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF)** works in the areas of skilling, employability, and livelihoods for underserved youth.

Our Lighthouse model brings together **Government, Corporates, NGOs, and Communities** through a Public\-Private Partnership to create sustainable pathways towards employment and socio\-economic transformation.

Our centres are built around collaboration — with different stakeholders contributing resources, expertise, networks, and capabilities to help young people access better opportunities.

  • *Our work is guided by:**
  • *Empathy \| Inclusion \| Integrity \| Courage**
  • *Your Role: Be the Bridge Between People \& Purpose**

As an HR Business Partner, you'll partner with regional leadership, Centre Heads, program teams, and employees to make sure our people practices support both **employee experience and organisational outcomes**.

You'll work across

  • *Hiring → Onboarding → Development → Performance → Employee Relations → Culture → Organisational Growth**

And because our teams work across centres and communities, this is a **field\-facing HR role**.

You won't just hear about people challenges in meetings.

  • *You'll go where the teams are. Listen. Understand. Solve. Build.**
  • *What You Will Do**
  • *Partner With Leaders \& Teams**
  • Act as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers across the assigned region.
  • Partner with Centre Heads and program leaders on people\-related matters.
  • Understand team dynamics, people challenges, and organisational needs.
  • Provide practical HR guidance to managers and employees.
  • Coach leaders on people management and employee\-related issues.
  • Ensure HR support is timely, accessible, and solution\-oriented.
  • *Build Teams That Can Deliver Impact**
  • *Great programs need great people.**
  • *You'll support the complete employee journey, including:**
  • Recruitment coordination.
  • Candidate screening.
  • Interview processes.
  • Offer and joining coordination.
  • Employee onboarding.
  • New\-hire orientation.
  • Early\-stage employee support.
  • *You'll work closely with hiring managers and central HR to ensure we bring in people who are not only capable, but also aligned with our values and mission.**
  • *Help People Grow**
  • Partner with central HR teams to implement learning and development initiatives.
  • Identify capability\-building needs across teams.
  • Support training and development programs.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning.
  • Work with managers to identify development opportunities for their teams.
  • *Make Performance Management Meaningful**
  • *Performance management should be more than an annual form.**
  • *You'll support managers and employees with:**
  • Goal setting.
  • Performance reviews.
  • Development planning.
  • Regular feedback.
  • Performance conversations.
  • Capability\-building interventions.
  • Performance improvement processes where required.
  • *The goal is to create clarity, accountability, and growth — while ensuring performance practices are fair and aligned with organisational expectations.**
  • *Support Employee Relations**
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers.
  • Listen to employee concerns and help identify appropriate solutions.
  • Support resolution of workplace issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Help managers navigate sensitive people situations.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure organisational policies and processes are understood and followed.
  • *Strengthen HR Practices Across Centres**
  • *Our teams work across different centres and communities.**
  • *You'll help ensure consistency while remaining sensitive to local realities.**
  • *This includes:**
  • Implementing HR policies and processes.
  • Supporting compliance requirements.
  • Ensuring employees understand relevant policies.
  • Identifying gaps in HR processes.
  • Working with central HR to improve employee experience.
  • Ensuring HR practices are aligned with organisational goals, values, and requirements.
  • *Use Data to Understand People**
  • *Good HR decisions need more than intuition.**
  • *You'll:**
  • Monitor HR metrics and trends.
  • Track hiring, onboarding, retention, performance, and other relevant people indicators.
  • Identify patterns and areas requiring attention.
  • Generate insights for leadership.
  • Recommend practical solutions to improve HR effectiveness.

The question isn't just

  • *“What is the number?”**

It's

  • *“What is the number telling us about our people?”**

Be Present Where the Work Happens

This role involves **up to 70% travel across centres in the assigned region**.

  • *You'll spend significant time with teams on the ground, building relationships, understanding local realities, and providing hands\-on HR support.**
  • *If you're someone who enjoys being close to the action rather than spending every day behind a desk, you'll enjoy this role.**
  • *Who Are We Looking For?**
  • *Education**
  • Bachelor's degree in **Human Resources, Business Administration**, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

  • **3–4 years of HR experience**.
  • Experience in areas such as:
  • Talent acquisition
  • Employee relations
  • Performance management
  • Learning \& development
  • People management
  • Organisational development
  • *Experience in a nonprofit, social\-impact, education, skilling, or field\-based organisation is an advantage.**
  • *Communication**
  • Excellent communication skills in **English and Hindi**.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship\-building abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees across different roles and backgrounds.
  • Strong listening, facilitation, and problem\-solving skills.
  • *You'll Thrive in This Role If...**
  • *You're someone who:**
  • Sees HR as a business and people partner — not just a process owner.
  • Is comfortable having difficult conversations with empathy and clarity.
  • Can coach a manager through a people problem rather than simply quoting policy.
  • Enjoys meeting people where they work.
  • Can move comfortably between strategic conversations and operational problem\-solving.
  • Is curious about what is happening on the ground.
  • Can work with people from very different backgrounds and roles.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Can work independently and take ownership.
  • Believes that inclusion is something you **build into everyday decisions**, not just something you write in a policy.
  • Is genuinely motivated by the idea that better people practices can lead to better outcomes for young people.
  • *What Success Looks Like**
  • *In this role, success isn't simply:**
  • *“HR processes were completed.”**

It's when

  • The right people are hired at the right time.
  • New employees feel welcomed and supported.
  • Managers become stronger people leaders.
  • Employees know what is expected of them.
  • Performance conversations happen with clarity and fairness.
  • Teams feel heard and supported.
  • People challenges are addressed before they become organisational problems.
  • Employees have opportunities to learn and grow.
  • HR data helps leaders make better decisions.
  • And ultimately, our teams are better equipped to create impact for young people.
  • *Why Join Lighthouse?**
  • *Build the People Behind the Impact**
  • *At Lighthouse, you'll get the opportunity to work at the intersection of:**
  • *People \+ Purpose \+ Field Operations \+ Organisational Development**

You'll work with diverse teams, engage with leaders across centres, and experience the realities of building people systems in a growing social\-impact organisation.

You'll also be part of an organisation where our values matter

  • *Empathy \| Inclusion \| Integrity \| Courage**

Because creating opportunities for young people starts with creating an environment where the people doing the work can **learn, grow, contribute, and thrive.**
