- *1\. Role Purpose**
- -------------------
The Interface Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all interface activities between the Contractor, Subcontractors, Interfacing Contractors, Primary Contractor, Utility Agencies, Statutory Authorities, Consultants, and the Engineer.
The role ensures timely information exchange, design alignment, construction synchronization, and risk?free integration across all phases—design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- *2\. Key Responsibilities**

### **A. Interface Management \& Coordination**
- Function as **single point of contact** for all technical and interface?related issues with the Client, Engineer, Primary Contractor, Consultants, Subcontractors, OEM/Supplier, Existing utility agencies, Statutory body and Government Authorities.
- Establish, implement, and maintain:
+ Interface Management Plan (IMP)
+ Interface Management Program (IMPG)
+ Interface Coordination Plan (CIP)
+ Interface Coordination Sheets (ICS)
+ Interface Specifications (IS)
+ Primary Contractor (PC)
- Coordinate all design, technical, planning, and construction interfaces across packages and disciplines.
- Ensure interfaces are identified, documented, tracked, monitored, and closed on time.
### **B. Information Exchange \& Documentation Control**
- Review project scope, design deliverables, and construction plans to identify interface dependencies.
- Collect, verify, and transmit information between interfacing parties in a timely manner.
- Maintain:
+ Interface registers
+ Updated CSD, SEM, DRD drawings
+ Meeting minutes, correspondence, and action logs
+ Monthly Progress Reports (MPR)
- Submission of project progress report to the Engineer, as per contract.
### **C. Stakeholder Meetings \& Liaison**
- Conduct and lead internal/external interface meetings with Primary Contractor, Consultants, OEM/supplier, Engineers, and Existing utility agencies.
- Organize video/tele?conferences for multidisciplinary design and interface alignment.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, attendance lists, and action trackers.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Clients, Primary Contractor, Statutory approval organization, Government agencies and project teams.
### **D. Issue Resolution \& Governance**
- Identify interface conflicts early and propose engineering/sequence?based solutions.
- Resolve or escalate disagreements regarding design, responsibilities, or site access requirements.
- Support the Engineer in clarifying contractual interface responsibilities.
- Monitor interface risks, variation, design changes, and potential impacts on schedule or cost.
- *3\. Design Interface Responsibilities**

- Develop design?stage IMP including information cut?off dates.
- Coordinate design data exchange between Primary Contractor, Consultants, OEM/Supplier, and Internal engineering teams.
- Review, integrate, and finalize:
+ Combined Services Drawings (CSD)
+ Structural \& E\&M Drawings (SEM)
+ Detailed Routing Drawings (DRD)
+ Builder’s work requirements
+ Preliminary Design, Detail Design \& Construction Design Engineering
+ As\-builts Design
- Submit design packages with joint design?coordination statements ensuring inter?package alignment.
- *4\. Construction Interface Responsibilities**
- ----------------------------------------------
- Coordinate all construction interfaces from mobilization to handover.
- Ensure synchronization for:
+ Cableways, duct banks, trenches
+ Openings, penetrations, embedded items, plinths, supports.
+ MEP works, systems installation, and civil provisions.
- Manage site access, delivery routes, logistics, workspace, scaffolding, lifting equipment, and temporary facilities.
- Resolve construction issues, clashes, missing provisions, and safety related constraints.
- Expedite field interface activities to prevent delays and ensure sequencing alignment with Primary Contractor, Statutory approval organization, Government agencies and existing utility agencies.
- Coordinate with Existing utility service owners.
- *5\. Testing, Commissioning \& Handover**

- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across interfacing parties.
- Ensure compliance with performance, integrity, and integration test requirements.
- Validate readiness for system?wide commissioning prior to final handover.
- Ensure submission of “As?Constructed” CSD, SEM, and interface drawings.
- *6\. Leadership \& Team Management**

- Lead a dedicated Interface Coordination Team stationed at the project site.
- Plan, track, and monitor progress of design and site interface activities.
- Ensure timely identification of delays and implement corrective actions.
- Develop team capability to deliver Primary Contractor ?related interface needs.
- *7\. Compliance, Contractual \& System Requirements**

- Ensure adherence to Employer’s Requirements, contract conditions, and Primary Contractor specifications.
- Manage interface compliance with statutory agencies, utilities, and Government \& other approval authorities.
- Maintain documentation systems for interface hazards, RAMS, and safety?critical interfaces.
- *8\. Qualifications \& Experience**
- -----------------------------------
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical and Electrical.
- 12–18 years’ experience in Metro/Rail/ Tunnel Infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years in Interface Management, Systems Coordination, or Multidisciplinary Integration.
- Hands?on experience with CSD/SEM/DRD drawings, BIM, and interface documentation systems.
- *9\. Technical \& Behavioral Competencies**

### **Technical Skills**
- Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering processes.
- Expertise in IMP, IMPG, CIP, ICS, CSD, SEM, DRD.
- Familiarity with Primary Contractor systems
+ **Electrical**: HT \& LT Power, UPS, DG, CCTV, Tunnel integrated control system, Emergency Call system, Automatic Fare collection, Traffic Management, GPS \& GNSS, PAVA, SCADA, ACS, BMS, Multiple Car level parking,
+ **Mechanical**: Tunnel Ventilation, Environmental Control Systems, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Gas Suppression, Plumbing, Drainage, Safety Equipment’s \& Signages, other MEP related activities.
- Review of Technical Submittal and O\&M Manual.
- Knowledge of RAMS, hazard management, testing \& commissioning.
- Excellent coordination, communication, stakeholder management skills.
