Valtep.ai develops advanced industrial training and safety solutions using physical simulators, virtual reality, AI and embedded technologies.

We are building training simulators for welding, CNC machines, trucks, excavators, forklifts, cranes and electronics manufacturing, along with AI\-based industrial safety monitoring systems.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands\-on Junior R\&D Engineer who enjoys working with electronics, mechanical components, embedded systems and real\-world engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

1\. Research \& Product Development

• Research hardware components, sensors, controllers, motors, actuators and simulation technologies.
• Support the development of welding, CNC, truck, excavator and industrial equipment simulators.
• Identify suitable open\-source hardware, software libraries and existing solutions that can accelerate development.
• Compare technical specifications, costs and product alternatives.
• Assist the lead engineer in preparing technical designs and prototype plans.

2\. Component Sourcing \& Procurement

• Identify suppliers and manufacturers for electronic and mechanical components.
• Contact vendors, collect quotations and compare technical specifications.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), supplier lists, component prices and purchase trackers.
• Identify cost\-effective component alternatives from Indian and international suppliers.
• Coordinate purchase orders, delivery schedules and material availability under approved procurement procedures.
• Maintain an inventory of prototype components and tools.

3\. Prototype Assembly \& Hardware Testing

• Assist in assembling mechanical and electronic prototype systems.
• Work with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP32, sensors, cameras, joysticks, motors and other hardware.
• Support wiring, soldering, basic electronics testing and mechanical fitment.
• Conduct functional testing and document observations.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, sensor and connectivity issues under engineering supervision.
• Support integration of physical controls with VR and simulation software.

4\. External Vendor \& Fabrication Coordination

• Coordinate with CNC machining shops, sheet\-metal fabricators, 3D printing vendors, PCB manufacturers and assembly contractors.
• Track fabrication and assembly progress against approved drawings and specifications.
• Arrange prototype samples, material deliveries and engineering inspections.
• Visit vendor workshops or third\-party assembly facilities when required.
• Report delays, defects and technical issues to the lead engineer.

5\. Quality Control \& Documentation

• Assist with incoming material inspection and component verification.
• Perform inspection and testing using approved checklists.
• Record dimensions, electrical measurements, fitment issues and functional test results.
• Maintain test reports, quality records, photographs and engineering documentation.
• Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and product demonstrations.
• Follow electrical, mechanical and workshop safety procedures.
• Escalate defects and safety concerns rather than making unauthorized changes to safety\-critical systems.

6\. AI, Embedded Systems \& VR Integration Support

• Assist with Raspberry Pi and microcontroller programming.
• Support camera, sensor and AI\-based monitoring prototype development.
• Help test Python, OpenCV and computer\-vision applications.
• Work with the Unity/VR team to connect physical hardware inputs to digital simulations.
• Research communication protocols such as USB, serial, CAN, UART and Modbus.
• Support data logging, controller testing and debugging.

• *Required Skills**

• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics or mechatronics.
• Basic understanding of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with electronic components, sensors, motors and wiring.
• Basic Python or C/C\+\+ programming knowledge.
• Ability to use Excel or Google Sheets for BOMs, cost comparisons and project tracking.
• Good internet research, documentation and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to visit suppliers, workshops and manufacturing facilities.
• Strong interest in practical engineering and building physical products.

• *Preferred Skills**

• SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Fusion 360\.
• PCB design tools such as KiCad.
• 3D printing and prototype fabrication.
• Robotics, automation, IoT or embedded\-system projects.
• GitHub and open\-source development.
• Basic understanding of Unity, Unreal or VR systems.
• Familiarity with Python, OpenCV or YOLO.
• Experience participating in robotics competitions, engineering clubs or hardware hackathons.

• *Ideal Candidate**

We prefer a candidate who has completed practical engineering projects, such as:

• Arduino or ESP32\-based automation systems.
• Robotic arms or mobile robots.
• Sensor\-based monitoring systems.
• Motor\-control or actuator projects.
• Raspberry Pi camera or computer\-vision projects.
• CNC, 3D printing or mechatronics prototypes.

• *Practical project experience is more important than college ranking or academic marks.**
