Job Description

  • *Educational Qualification:**

Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Board of Technical Education / University.

OR

Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / AICTE\-approved Institution.

  • *Work Experience:**

Minimum two years of experience in relevant area of industry/educational institutions offering degree/diploma courses in Engineering.

Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience in handling Civil Engineering laboratories in Engineering Colleges, Universities, Polytechnic Institutes, Research Laboratories, or Construction Industry.

  • *Job Description:**

The Laboratory Assistant – Civil Engineering shall be responsible for supporting academic and laboratory activities of the Civil Engineering Department.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Assist faculty members and students during practical sessions, laboratory demonstrations, and project work.
  • Prepare and arrange laboratory setups, specimens, materials, and equipment required for conducting experiments.
  • Operate, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of Civil Engineering laboratory equipment related to:

+ Concrete Technology Laboratory

+ Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory

+ Transportation Engineering Laboratory

+ Environmental Engineering Laboratory

+ Surveying Laboratory

+ Fluid Mechanics / Hydraulics Laboratory

+ Strength of Materials Laboratory

* Maintain laboratory records including

+ Equipment inventory

+ Stock registers

+ Consumable records

+ Calibration and maintenance records

+ Practical attendance and experiment records

  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper utilization of laboratory facilities.
  • Assist in procurement, installation, testing, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Support departmental activities such as accreditation documentation, laboratory audits, inspections, and academic requirements.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with institutional laboratory standards.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department / Competent Authority related to departmental requirements.
