### **Role description**
Job Title 3rd Line Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer Role
Overview
The 3rd Line Support Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support and change delivery for business\-critical applications and data platforms.
This role focuses on resolving complex incidents, implementing approved changes, and ensuring the accuracy and continuity of business data operations.
The engineer will work closely with delivery teams, stakeholders, and other support tiers to maintain service quality and system stability.
Key Responsibilities Delivery \& Change Management Deliver approved application and data changes in line with agreed governance and release processes.
Support change requests by performing technical analysis, impact assessment, and deployment activities. Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth transition of changes into production.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to support and delivery processes.
3rd Line Technical Support Act as the escalation point for complex technical incidents beyond 1st and 2nd line support.
Perform in\-depth investigation and root cause analysis of recurring or high\-impact issues. Provide permanent fixes and document known errors and workarounds.
Ensure incidents and problems are resolved within agreed SLAs and OLAs. Business Data Maintenance Maintain and support business\-critical data across production and non\-production environments.
Perform data corrections, validations, and reconciliations as required by the business. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency when applying fixes or changes.
Support reporting and operational teams with data\-related queries and investigations.
Technical Skills \& Experience
Essential Skills
Experience supporting business‑critical or data‑intensive systems.
Ability to work effectively in a delivery‑focused, client‑facing environment.
Soft Skills \& Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. High attention to detail, especially when working with business data.
Clear and professional communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Education \& Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
Relevant technical or IT service management certifications are an advantage.
