### **What We Do**

FlytBase is the global category leader in Physical AI for Large sites. FlytBase’s drone autonomy platform powers mission\-critical operations across 400\+ enterprise sites in 70\+ countries. Our customers include Fortune 500 leaders such as Shell, CSX, UK Police, Airbus, Anglo American, Dole, and Statnett. FlytBase has its presence in 70\+ countries with offices in the US and Pune, India. FlytBase is building the nervous system for large industrial sites. We operate at AI speed \- autonomy and intelligence at our core. Our lean team thrives in a high\-agency, high\-velocity environment where AI is not a side project; it is the operating system for how we think, build, and grow.

### **The Role**

You’ll be FlytBase’s first in\-house Legal Lead, building the legal function from scratch while working directly with the founders. Your job is to make it easier, safer, and faster for the company to grow globally, across enterprise contracting, international expansion, IP, and future fundraising. On any given day, you might be negotiating a complex liability/indemnity package with a Fortune 500 customer in the US, untangling IP and data rights in a new product integration, structuring an employer\-of\-record setup for a new country, or making sure our cap table and approvals are diligence\-ready. You’ll know when to pull in external specialists, and you’ll own the questions, decisions, and follow\-through. If you enjoy building clean, scalable legal systems for fast\-moving tech businesses, and you want your work to directly influence deals, product decisions, and how we enter new markets, this role will keep you on your toes.

### **What You'll Own**

  • International enterprise contracting: Lead end\-to\-end negotiations with large enterprise customers, their in\-house counsel, procurement, and external attorneys, especially in the US and Europe. • Drafting \& negotiation: Own master agreements, SaaS/subscription terms, partner and reseller agreements, DPAs, security addenda, and vendor contracts—often starting from customer paper. • Risk \& remedies: Resolve hard issues on liability caps, IP indemnities, warranties, SLAs, data rights, termination, governing law, and dispute resolution with a commercial, not academic, lens. • Deal structuring: Work with sales, engineering, security, and finance to align commitments with what we can actually deliver, and build pragmatic fallback positions that help close good business. • Fundraising readiness: Keep corporate records, equity documentation, approvals, and IP ownership evidence clean and diligence\-ready for future financing rounds. • Corporate transactions: Partner with founders, finance, and external counsel on term sheets, investment documents, diligence responses, closing mechanics, and ongoing corporate governance. • Global people \& entities: Help structure international hiring (employees, contractors, EOR) and support new entities, intercompany arrangements, and local compliance with specialist input. • IP \& disputes: Protect FlytBase’s software and inventions in all our contracts, separate platform IP from customer deliverables and data, and coordinate specialist counsel on patents, trademarks, licensing demands, and infringement disputes. • Legal systems \& templates: Build templates, playbooks, approval rules, contract records, and dashboards that give the business clear visibility into obligations and reduce turnaround times. • AI\-native legal ops: Experiment with AI and automation to draft, redline, summarise, and track contracts—while enforcing disciplined confidentiality, verification, and human review.

### **Best Suited For**

  • Seasoned tech counsel with 5–8 years (or equivalent) post\-qualification experience in enterprise technology/SaaS contracting across multiple jurisdictions. • Hands\-on negotiator who has personally led complex deals with US and/or European customer counsel—beyond NDAs and boilerplate vendor agreements. • Commercial problem\-solver who can explain trade\-offs in plain English and recommend which risks to accept, push back on, or escalate (and why). • Corporate generalist with experience supporting fundraising, keeping cap tables and approvals clean, and working through investment documents with external counsel. • IP\-aware lawyer comfortable with software, cloud, data, open\-source, and AI\-related IP questions, even if you’re not a patent litigator. • Operator who can run independently, manage competing priorities, and work directly with founders, sales, engineering, security, and people ops. • AI\-fluent professional who actively uses AI tools to draft, research, and build systems—without outsourcing your judgment or ethics to them. • Builder who has either created or significantly improved legal processes, templates, and playbooks in a fast\-moving company.

### **What Makes You a Flyter**

  • Radical ownership: You don’t just spot legal issues—you drive them from identification to resolution, including the messy operational bits. • Business\-first thinking: You see contracts and structures as tools to enable smart risk\-taking and growth, not to block anything that moves. • Clarity under pressure: You can take a dense redline or complex cross\-border issue and explain it in two clear options with a recommendation. • High candor, low ego: You give direct advice to senior leaders, invite pushback, and change your mind fast when new facts show up. • Systems over heroics: You’d rather fix the process and template once than fight the same negotiation fire ten times. • Curiosity for new terrain: When you hit a novel jurisdiction or AI/IP problem, you dig in, get specialist help where needed, and level up fast.

### **What We Don't Want**

  • Deal spectators who “review and comment” from the sidelines but avoid taking the lead on live negotiations with customer counsel. • Policy purists who default to saying no, cite theoretical risk, and don’t offer commercially workable alternatives or phased approaches. • Title\-chasers who want to “head legal” in name but aren’t willing to do the hands\-on drafting, redlining, and process\-building work. • Solo geniuses who resist using templates, playbooks, AI tools, or checklists and prefer everything to live in their inbox and memory. • Jurisdictional overconfidence who wing cross\-border employment, tax, or IP issues without knowing when to bring in specialist advice. • Slow movers who need weeks to turn around standard agreements or who treat every routine negotiation like a zero\-sum courtroom battle.

### **Why FlytBase?**

  • Build the function: Architect FlytBase’s legal function from day zero \- templates, playbooks, tools, and governance, rather than inheriting someone else’s mess. • Front\-row seat to scale: Work directly with founders on the deals, structures, and financings that shape how Physical AI scales across 400\+ sites in 70\+ countries. • High\-agency environment: Operate with real decision\-making power, not just markup authority, your judgment will directly influence revenue, product, and hiring. • Complex global work: Navigate US/EU enterprise contracts, cross\-border hiring, IP, and future fundraising in a single role instead of being siloed. • AI\-native legal practice: Experiment with AI and automation in your own workflows at a company where autonomy and intelligence are the core product, not a side project. • In\-person energy: Work from our Pune office with high\-cadence collaboration, fast feedback loops, and a team that cares about being Happy, Healthy, and High\-Performing.

### **The Perks**

  • High agency team and sense of purpose • International Travel \- we travel to all 6 continents (sorry, no business in Antarctica yet) • Thought leadership \& public speaking opportunities at online \& physical events • No\-cap budget for AI tools, courses, or experiments • Latest tech stack and tools \- whatever helps you move faster • Unlimited leave policy \& flexible working hours (no punch\-in/out) • A damn good team to work with

### **Who You'll Work With**

You’ll work directly with the founders and the operations leadership team, sitting close to sales, finance, people ops, and engineering. You’ll also coordinate with our external legal advisers and specialist counsel across corporate, employment, IP, and international matters.

### **Ready to Fly?**

If you want to build a legal function that actually helps a global AI company move faster, and you’re ready to own the hard calls, apply with specific examples of the toughest deals and decisions you’ve led.
