Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Unix, Alation \& Erwin Administrator to manage and support enterprise data catalog and data modeling platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux Administration, Alation, Erwin Data Modeler, Python, AWS, PostgreSQL, Terraform, and Identity Management. The role involves platform administration, metadata management, ETL development, cloud deployments, and production support to ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of enterprise data platforms.

• *Your future duties and responsibilities**

• Administer and maintain self\-hosted Alation Data Catalog and Erwin Data Modeling platforms.
• Perform platform upgrades, migrations, patching, and backup/restore operations.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and availability.
• Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, and application issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot metadata extraction processes.
• Manage query log ingestion pipelines and metadata synchronization.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to maintain connectors and credentials.
• Support enterprise data catalog and metadata governance initiatives.
• Administer Linux servers and containerized environments.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases and perform routine maintenance.
• Support cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS.
• Configure and maintain Single Sign\-On (SSO) using OIDC, SAML, and OKTA.
• Implement SCIM\-based user provisioning and authentication.
• Ensure secure access management and compliance with enterprise security standards.
• Develop and maintain Python\-based ETL workflows.
• Automate platform administration and operational tasks.
• Develop scripts for data ingestion, transformation, and monitoring.
• Utilize Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Manage customer support activities through ServiceNow (SNOW).
• Create, update, and resolve support tickets within SLA.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
• Prepare operational documentation and knowledge articles.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders during upgrades, migrations, and issue resolution.

Must\-Have Skills

• 5–8 years of experience in Platform Administration or Data Engineering.
• Strong Linux System Administration experience.
• Hands\-on experience with Alation Data Catalog Administration.
• Experience with Erwin Data Modeler Administration.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases.
• Experience with Identity Management technologies:
• OIDC
• SAML
• OKTA
• SCIM
• Intermediate to advanced Python programming for ETL development.
• Experience with AWS services including:
• EC2
• S3
• IAM
• Hands\-on experience with Terraform.
• Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) for incident and support management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good\-to\-Have Skills

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with enterprise data governance platforms.
• Exposure to Collibra or Informatica Data Governance.
• Shell scripting (Bash).
• Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
• Knowledge of enterprise metadata management concepts.
