Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Hospital)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive **Maintenance Engineer** to oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all hospital engineering systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate MUST have prior experience working in a hospital environment and possess strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS), HVAC, fire protection systems, and other critical healthcare facility infrastructure. The role requires ensuring uninterrupted operation of all engineering services while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical \& Electronics Engineering.
- **Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a hospital is mandatory.**
- Hands\-on experience with **MEP systems** and **Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS)**.
- Knowledge of hospital engineering standards, preventive maintenance practices, and statutory compliance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate with clinical departments, contractors, and vendors.
- Willingness to work on\-call and respond to emergency breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all hospital MEP systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of the Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS), including routine inspections and coordination with authorized service providers.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all engineering assets.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and utility failures to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and maintain DG sets, UPS systems, transformers, LT/HT panels, water supply systems, STP/WTP, pumps, and other critical utilities.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, and pressure\-controlled clinical areas.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, fire safety, electrical safety, biomedical engineering coordination requirements, and other applicable statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), repairs, and installations.
- Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, equipment histories, checklists, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor utility consumption and recommend energy\-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Support engineering projects, renovations, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and infection control practices during maintenance activities.
- Train and guide maintenance technicians to achieve operational excellence.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of hospital utility systems and critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation systems.
- Understanding of fire alarm, firefighting, nurse call, CCTV, access control, and ELV systems.
- Excellent communication, planning, and team management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast\-paced healthcare environment.
