Maintenance Head/Manager

• *Designation: Maintenance Head / Maintenance Manager – Induction Furnace**

• *Department:** Maintenance – Steel Melting Shop (SMS)
• *Experience:** Induction furnace maintenance experience is mandatory.

• *1\. Job Purpose**

To manage and supervise all maintenance activities related to induction furnaces and associated SMS equipment, ensuring maximum equipment availability, minimum breakdowns, safe operations and cost\-effective maintenance.

• *2\. Key Responsibilities**

• *A. Induction Furnace Maintenance**

• Manage overall maintenance of induction furnaces and associated equipment.
• Monitor furnace coil condition, refractory lining, cooling water systems, pumps and pipelines.
• Supervise maintenance of furnace tilting mechanisms, hydraulic systems, cylinders, gearboxes and related equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of cooling towers, water circulation systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Identify equipment problems and ensure timely corrective action.
• Coordinate with OEMs and service engineers for major breakdowns and technical support.

• *B. Mechanical Maintenance**

• Manage maintenance of pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, cooling towers and other plant equipment.
• Handle major breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring breakdowns and implement corrective measures.
• Plan equipment overhauling, repairs and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper alignment, lubrication and condition monitoring of equipment.

• *C. Preventive \& Predictive Maintenance**

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures.
• Minimize unplanned downtime through timely maintenance and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment history, breakdown reports and maintenance records.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts, tools and maintenance materials.

• *D. Team Management**

• Lead and supervise maintenance supervisors, engineers, fitters and technicians.
• Allocate manpower and responsibilities for routine and breakdown maintenance.
• Train the maintenance team in equipment handling and safe maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with production, stores, purchase and plant management teams.

• *E. Safety \& Cost Control**

• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, PPE requirements and permit\-to\-work systems.
• Control maintenance expenses, spare parts consumption and repair costs.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Improve equipment reliability and increase the service life of plant machinery.

• *3\. Educational Qualification**

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Relevant technical qualifications with strong induction furnace maintenance experience may also be considered.

• *4\. Required Experience \& Skills**

• Hands\-on experience in induction furnace maintenance in a steel melting shop (SMS) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of furnace\-related mechanical systems, hydraulic systems and cooling water systems.
• Experience in breakdown handling, preventive maintenance and shutdown planning.
• Ability to manage maintenance manpower and coordinate with production.
• Strong troubleshooting, planning and problem\-solving skills.

Pay: From ₹80,000\.00 per month
