What does a great Finance Manager do?
Ultimately, a strong Finance Manager ensures accounting operations are executed accurately and on time, supports disciplined financial reporting and cash management, maintains balance sheet integrity, and helps the business operate with strong financial control and compliance. They are analytical, detail\-oriented, collaborative, and able to lead teams effectively while partnering across departments and with global stakeholders in a multinational environment.
How you will provide meaningful contributions
Financial reporting and compliance
- Oversee month\-end, quarter\-end, and year\-end close activities, ensuring timely completion, high\-quality reconciliations, and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, rollforwards, flux analysis, and management variance commentary.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP / local GAAP, internal accounting policies, and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain strong documentation standards for journals, reconciliations, estimates, and review signoffs.
Cash and treasury management
Monitor cash flow trends and support cash positioning, liquidity planning, and shortterm forecasting.
- Manage bank relationships, oversee bank reconciliations, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Support treasury\-related controls and reporting, including coordination of funding requirements and payment governance.
Fixed asset and lease accounting
- Lead end\-to\-end accounting for property, plant and equipment, leases, and related asset balances, including capitalization, depreciation, amortization, transfers, retirements, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Oversee lease accounting for right\-of\-use assets, lease liabilities, accruals, prepayments, renewals, modifications, terminations, and reassessments.
- Maintain fixed asset and lease subledgers, ensure completeness and accuracy of underlying records, and review coding, capitalization criteria, cost centers, and business classifications.
- Support accounting for intangible assets and capitalized software, including capitalization assessment, useful life reviews, amortization schedules, impairment support, and retirement tracking where applicable.
Accounts payable and expense management
- Oversee AP operations to ensure timely, accurate, and controlled processing of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments.
- Monitor vendor reconciliations, resolve disputes, and improve turnaround time and accuracy in invoice\-to\-payment cycles.
- Drive process standardization and automation opportunities to improve AP efficiency, controls, and reporting quality.
Audit and internal controls
- Support internal and external audits through timely preparation of schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and technical explanations.
- Strengthen internal controls across close, fixed assets, leases, treasury, and payables by identifying gaps and implementing practical process improvements.
- Identify accounting and financial reporting risks proactively and work with stakeholders to mitigate them on a timely basis.
Leadership and stakeholder management
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, establishing clear ownership, review discipline, and continuous learning.
- Coordinate effectively with global finance teams to align policies, timelines, close expectations, and standard operating procedures.
- Partner cross\-functionally with procurement, facilities, legal, FP\&A, technology, and project teams to capture business changes and reflect them accurately in
accounting records.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement within the team.
Basic Qualifications and Skills for Consideration
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 6\-8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP, local tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a high\-performing accounting team.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem\-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Experience in financial reporting, treasury, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable, and expense management.
- Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment with global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated focus on process improvement, standardization, and strengthening internal controls across accounting operations.
