Motion Graphic Designer & Video Editor

About the Role

Desun Academy is looking for a skilled **Video Editor \& Motion Graphics Designer** to join our in\-house content team. You will work closely with the content and marketing teams to produce short\-form reels, long\-form YouTube videos, and promotional content for our design, development, and digital marketing programs.

This is a hands\-on production role requiring consistent weekly output, with an expectation of editing 3–5\+ pieces of content per week rather than focusing on occasional, one\-off projects.

What You'll Do

• Edit short\-form reels and long\-form YouTube videos, from raw footage to final export.
• Create and animate motion graphics, including lower thirds, kinetic typography, transitions, logo animations, and explainer animations.
• Work from scripts and shot lists provided by the content team to create engaging, audience\-focused videos.
• Maintain consistent visual branding across all Desun Academy video content.
• Collaborate with the content team to execute a weekly content calendar.
• Deliver video edits within agreed timelines and production deadlines.
• Organize and manage project files, footage, and reusable templates for future content production.

Must\-Have Skills

• **Adobe Premiere Pro:** Advanced proficiency in multicam editing, colour correction, audio synchronisation and cleanup, and pacing techniques for short\-form audience retention.
• **Adobe After Effects:** Working proficiency in 2D motion graphics, including kinetic typography, lower thirds, logo animations, and simple explainer animations.
• Strong understanding of pacing and rhythm for short\-form content, particularly Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Experience in long\-form video editing is an advantage. Clearly mention your experience with both short\-form and long\-form content in your application.
• Ability to work independently from scripts and shot lists with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage tight, recurring weekly deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.

Nice\-to\-Have Skills

• Experience using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop for visual asset creation.
• Basic sound design and audio mixing skills.
• Experience editing educational videos, online courses, webinars, or course promotional content.
• Familiarity with Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts best practices, including hooks, audience retention, and platform\-specific pacing.

Portfolio Requirement (Mandatory)

• *Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.**

Applicants must submit the following

• **2–3 short\-form reels** that they have edited, demonstrating their editing skills and creative decision\-making. Original editing work is preferred over template\-based videos.
• **At least 1 motion graphics sample**, such as a lower third, kinetic typography sequence, logo animation, or explainer animation.
• **Optional:** A before\-and\-after comparison or raw footage alongside the final edited video to demonstrate the editing process and contribution.

Please ensure that your portfolio clearly showcases your editing skills, motion graphics capabilities, visual storytelling, and attention to detail.

Pay: ₹15,000\.00 \- ₹20,000\.00 per month
