We are looking for a senior Laravel developer to lead the development, optimisation, and scaling of our custom e\-commerce platform. The role is ideal for someone who has built or managed high\-traffic e\-commerce websites, checkout flows, payment systems, order management systems, customer dashboards, and backend admin panels.
The developer will work closely with the founder, product team, marketing team, and operations team to build fast, reliable, and conversion\-focused features.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Development
Build, maintain, and improve a custom Laravel\-based e\-commerce website.
Develop product pages, landing pages, checkout flows, customer accounts, cart systems, offers, bundles, subscriptions, coupons, and upsell journeys.
Improve website speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall user experience.
Build backend systems for order management, inventory, refunds, customer service, prescription/order verification flows, and fulfilment workflows.

Integrations
Integrate with payment gateways, shipping partners, WhatsApp APIs, CRM tools, email/SMS tools, warehouse systems, and accounting systems.
Build APIs and webhooks for third\-party platforms.
Ensure smooth communication between website, order system, logistics, and customer support tools.
Performance \& Security
Optimise database queries, caching, queues, APIs, and page load speed.
Ensure secure coding practices, especially around customer data, payments, and admin access.
Maintain backups, error logging, monitoring, and deployment processes.
Manage Laravel queues, cron jobs, Redis, MySQL, and server performance.
Leadership
Guide junior developers and review their code.
Convert business requirements into technical solutions.
Work with designers and frontend developers to launch new pages quickly.
Plan development sprints and prioritise urgent business needs.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Redis, queues, APIs, and MVC architecture.
Experience building or maintaining e\-commerce websites.
Strong understanding of checkout flows, carts, coupons, order systems, and payment integrations.
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Blade, Vue, React, or similar frontend frameworks.
Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab, deployment pipelines, and staging environments.
Ability to work with APIs, webhooks, payment gateways, courier APIs, WhatsApp APIs, and CRM integrations.
Strong debugging and problem\-solving skills.
Experience improving website speed, Core Web Vitals, and database performance.

Experience with D2C brands.
Experience with Shopify/WooCommerce/Magento concepts, even if the main platform is custom Laravel.
Experience with Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, GA4, CAPI, and server\-side tracking.
Experience with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT to speed up development.
Experience building internal dashboards for operations, customer service, logistics, and marketing teams.
Experience with subscription models, repeat purchase flows, and loyalty systems.
