Planning Engineer (MSP)

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in commercial interior fit\-out projects. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, resource planning, and coordination with project teams to ensure timely completion of projects as per approved timelines and quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands\-on experience in commercial interior fit\-out works, including civil and finishing activities, MEP coordination, and project execution planning.

Key Responsibilities

• *1\. Project Planning \& Scheduling**

• Prepare detailed project schedules, work programs, and activity\-wise execution plans for commercial interior fit\-out projects.
• Develop baseline schedules, milestone charts, and look\-ahead plans using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Plan and monitor activities related to civil works, partitions, false ceilings, flooring, painting, joinery, furniture, and MEP services.
• Identify critical activities and ensure adherence to project milestones.

• *2\. Progress Monitoring \& Reporting**

• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against approved schedules.
• Prepare daily progress reports (DPR), weekly progress reports (WPR), and monthly progress reports (MPR).
• Track planned versus actual progress and identify delays, bottlenecks, and deviations.
• Conduct progress reviews with project managers and site teams and recommend corrective actions.

• *3\. Coordination \& Execution Support**

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, MEP teams, design teams, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor dependencies between civil, interior finishing, and MEP activities.
• Follow up on material availability, drawings, approvals, and other requirements affecting project progress.
• Ensure proper sequencing of activities to avoid delays and rework.

• *4\. Resource \& Material Planning**

• Assist in manpower, material, equipment, and subcontractor planning based on project requirements.
• Prepare resource deployment plans to meet project deadlines.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to track critical materials and long\-lead items.

• *5\. Delay Analysis \& Project Control**

• Identify schedule risks, delays, and potential slippages.
• Conduct delay analysis and prepare recovery schedules wherever required.
• Track critical path activities and suggest measures to improve project progress.
• Maintain records of schedule revisions, project milestones, and progress updates.

• *6\. Documentation \& Client Reporting**

• Prepare and maintain project schedules, progress trackers, milestone reports, and planning documentation.
• Support project review meetings and prepare progress presentations for management and clients.
• Maintain updated records of drawings, approvals, material status, and site progress relevant to project planning.

Required Skills \& Experience

• 4–6 years of experience in project planning, preferably in commercial interior fit\-out projects.
• Hands\-on experience in planning and monitoring corporate offices, commercial spaces, IT offices, retail spaces, or other interior fit\-out projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and delay analysis.
• Understanding of interior finishing activities and MEP coordination.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for progress tracking, reporting, and planning dashboards.
• Strong coordination, analytical, communication, and problem\-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and work within tight project deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates with experience in commercial interior contracting or turnkey interior fit\-out companies will be preferred.
• Candidates should have practical site\-planning experience rather than only theoretical scheduling knowledge.
• Experience coordinating with project execution teams and preparing client\-facing progress reports will be an advantage.
