Job brief
We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to design, develop, and scale our backend systems. You will lead backend architecture, build high\-performance microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, Django and other frameworks and ensure system scalability, security, and reliability.
You will mentor developers, drive best practices, and collaborate with product, AI, and DevOps teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, Django and other related framework.
- Lead backend architecture and technical design decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and distributed systems
- Mentor and guide backend developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices
- Collaborate with product, frontend, AI, and DevOps teams to deliver end\-to\-end solutions
- Optimize database design, query performance, and caching strategies
- Implement security best practices, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Ensure high system performance, availability, and scalability
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to technical planning, system design, and long\-term architecture strategy
- *Technical Requirements**
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Python, Fast API, Django
- Extensive experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, including schema design and performance optimization
- Deep understanding of Object\-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and clean architecture
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate
- Experience with Redis or other caching technologies
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS
- Experience with AWS cloud services and deploying scalable applications
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and distributed systems
- Experience with authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth)
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows
