What you’ll do
As a Principal Engineer, you’ll create great customer outcomes through innovative engineering solutions to existing and new challenges, as well as technology designs that are customer centric, high\-performing, secure and resilient. You’ll act as a point of contact for solution design considerations, including infrastructure provisioning, environment setup and platform automation.
You’ll lead significant, complex and technically challenging assignments, including domain\-wide infrastructure and hosting transformation initiatives. You’ll also have a strong experience of cloud and infrastructure engineering practices and shaping infrastructure strategy at scale.
Alongside an expert understanding of emerging technologies, tools and market trends, you’ll bring significant experience implementing engineering best practice across scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance. You’ll have deep knowledge of cloud\-native architectures, infrastructure automation and distributed systems, with experience guiding workload hosting decisions across complex environments.
You’ll also need
- A strong background in leading software development teams in a matrix structure, introducing and executing technical strategies
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Hands\-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, alongside environment automation practices
- Experience defining workload hosting strategies and managing environment lifecycles across hybrid infrastructure environments
- Significant experience of test\-driven development and using automated testing frameworks, mocking, stubbing and unit testing tools
