• *The Work You'll Do:**

As a **Product Owner** at Sovos, you'll be at the heart of our product development process, bridging the strategic vision with technical execution. You'll translate market needs and customer requirements into features that empower over 100,000 businesses worldwide to navigate complex tax compliance with confidence. This role puts you in the driver's seat of product evolution, working alongside engineering, UX design, and cross\-functional teams to deliver solutions that make a real\-world impact.

Your expertise will shape products used across industries and geographies, ensuring our global customers stay compliant in an ever\-changing regulatory landscape. You'll work in an agile environment where your decisions directly influence product direction and customer success.

• More specifically, you will:*

• Act as the primary liaison between product management and engineering teams, translating product strategy into actionable development priorities
• Own and maintain the product backlog for one or multiple agile teams, ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps and maximizing business outcomes
• Gather and synthesize product requirements from key stakeholders, end users, and market research to inform product development
• Coordinate the creation of mockups, prototypes, and functional specifications that clearly communicate product vision to development teams
• Write comprehensive product requirements documents and oversee their implementation throughout the development lifecycle
• Lead testing coordination including user acceptance testing, alpha and beta programs, ensuring product quality and user satisfaction
• Manage bug prioritization and resolution in collaboration with engineering teams
• Communicate progress and updates to stakeholders throughout product development cycles, maintaining transparency and alignment
• Mentor other team members on product owner best practices, fostering excellence across the organization

• *What We Need From You**

• 4\+ years of experience in related fields such as product management, business analysis, or product development
• Deep understanding of the Product Owner role within agile/scrum frameworks, with proven ability to maximize outcomes aligned with product strategy
• Experience in B2B SaaS environments preferred, with understanding of enterprise software development
• Strong decision\-making skills balanced with analytical thinking and intuition—comfortable making tough calls when needed
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities, with talent for communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Proven track record of prioritizing and grooming backlogs that deliver maximum value and business impact
• Ability to work effectively with multiple teams simultaneously, providing guidance without constant oversight
• Collaborative mindset with experience working across product development, UX/design, regulatory analysis, customer support, and professional services teams
• Willingness to travel minimally (less than 25%) to Sovos locations and events both domestically and internationally
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
