- *Location:** Kolkata**Job Purpose**
To ensure consistent in\-process product quality across semi\-automated manufacturing lines for circuit breakers by implementing effective inspection systems, controlling process variations, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer requirements.**Key Responsibilities****1\. In\-Process Quality Assurance*** Ensure effective **quality control at all stages of semi\-automated assembly lines**
- Define and implement **checkpoints, control plans, and inspection standards**.
- Monitor **critical\-to\-quality (CTQ) parameters** during production.
- *2\. Process Monitoring \& Control*** Analyze and control **process capability (Cp, Cpk)** for key operations.
- Ensure adherence to **SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards**.
- Implement **Poka\-Yoke (mistake\-proofing)** and error prevention techniques.
- *3\. Inspection \& Testing*** Oversee **in\-process inspections, functional testing, and visual inspections**
- Ensure calibration and proper usage of **measurement instruments and automated test equipment**.
- Validate **jigs, fixtures, and automation setups** used in assembly lines.
- Routine tests on Circuit Breakers
- *4\. Non\-Conformance Management*** Identify, document, and drive closure of **in\-process defects and non\-conformities**.
- Lead **root cause analysis (RCA)** using tools like Kata, 8D, DMAIC
- Implement and track **corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)**.
- *5\. Team Leadership*** Manage a team of **quality inspectors**.
- Ensure proper **training and skill development** of team members.
- Drive accountability and performance monitoring through KPIs.
- *6\. Continuous Improvement*** Drive **quality improvement initiatives** to reduce rejection and rework.
- Support **Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen activities** in manufacturing lines.
- Improve **First Pass Yield (FPY)** and reduce defects per million opportunities (DPMO).
- *7\. Cross\-Functional Coordination*** Closely coordinate with **Production, Maintenance, Design, and Supplier Quality** teams.
- Support **new product development (NPD)** and process validation.
- Participate in **customer audits and internal audits**.
- *8\. Documentation \& Compliance*** Maintain all **quality records, inspection reports, and audit documentation**.
- Ensure compliance with **ISO/IEC standards and customer specifications**.
- Support regulatory and certification requirements.
- *Skills \& Competencies*** Strong knowledge of **electromechanical assembly processes** (circuit breakers preferred)
- Understanding of **semi\-automated production systems**
- Proficiency in **quality tools (SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA)**
- Ability to read and interpret **engineering drawings and specifications**
- **8D / Six Sigma** knowledge
- Part qualification by PPAP
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving ability
- Good communication and stakeholder management
- *Qualifications \& Experience*** Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in **Electrical / Mechanical Engineering**
- 8–12 years of experience in **quality control within switchgear or similar manufacturing**
- Experience in **circuit breaker production lines** is highly preferred
