ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a hands\-on Production Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Bokaro Steel City. This role is central to keeping our shop floor running efficiently, from planning and scheduling through to dispatch, with direct responsibility for a team of skilled workers. RESPONSIBILITIES \- Read and interpret customer engineering drawings independently to guide production \- Create, modify, and issue manufacturing and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD \- Prepare machining sketches and generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) \- Develop and manage production schedules, job cards, and machine loading plans \- Plan dispatch timelines and coordinate capacity to meet customer delivery deadlines \- Supervise and direct shop\-floor teams including foundry workers, welders, fitters, machinists, and helpers (15 to 50 personnel) \- Resolve workforce issues, manage attendance, and ensure shift continuity \- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce rework, material wastage, and cycle times \- Suggest and help design fixtures and jigs to improve workflow and productivity \- Monitor weld quality, dimensional tolerances, and pressure testing outcomes \- Collaborate with the quality team on dimensional inspections and root cause analysis \- Maintain production records and report on output, efficiency, and delays REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS \- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering \- 5 to 10 years of experience in a fabrication, foundry, or heavy engineering environment \- Demonstrated ability to read and create engineering drawings without supervision \- Hands\-on experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and dispatch coordination \- Proven track record managing shop\-floor teams of 15 or more workers \- Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing creation and modification \- Working knowledge of quality standards including tolerances, weld inspection, and pressure testing \- Ability to independently plan a full production sequence from order receipt to delivery \- Strong problem\-solving skills with at least one measurable process improvement to your name PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \- Experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor \- Familiarity with copper or non\-ferrous metal components and foundry processes \- Exposure to formal root cause analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, or similar) \- Prior experience in a job\-shop or engineer\-to\-order manufacturing environment WHAT WE OFFER \- Stable, full\-time position with a growing manufacturing company \- Opportunity to take meaningful ownership of production operations \- Collaborative work environment with experienced technical teams \- Career growth potential within engineering and operations leadership
