- *Job Title:** Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer – Transformers
- *Experience Required:** 2 to 3 Years
- *Location:** Walunj MIDC
- *Department:** Quality Assurance \& Technical Compliance
- *Position Overview**We are seeking a detail\-oriented and motivated **Quality Engineer** with 2 to 3 years of hands\-on experience in the electrical manufacturing domain, specifically in **transformer manufacturing**. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the end\-to\-end quality of materials and products, spanning from **incoming raw material inspections** to **in\-process testing** and **final dispatch clearance**. You will play a crucial role in maintaining regulatory compliance, reducing defect rates, and upholding customer satisfaction.**Key Responsibilities1\. Incoming Quality Control (IQC)**
- **Inspect raw materials** and components critical to transformer manufacturing (e.g., CRGO core steel, copper/aluminum windings, transformer oil, bushings, insulation pressboard, tanks, and radiators).
- **Verify supplier test certificates** (TCs) against internal engineering drawings and international/national standards (IS, IEC, IEEE).
- **Raise Non\-Conformance Reports (NCR)** for materials failing to meet specifications and coordinate directly with procurement and suppliers for resolutions.
- *2\. In\-Process Quality Control (IPQC)**
- **Monitor core\-building**, winding, insulation assembly, tanking, and final assembly stages to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- **Conduct stage\-wise checks** including winding resistance tests, turns ratio tests, insulation resistance (Megger) checks, and magnetic balance tests.
- **Supervise core\-loss testing** and verify dimension controls prior to tanking.
- *3\. Final \& Dispatch Quality Control (OQC)**
- **Coordinate routing \& routine tests** on completely assembled transformers (e.g., No\-Load/Load loss, dielectric tests, temperature rise tests, and high\-voltage tests).
- **Perform pre\-dispatch inspections (PDI)**, ensuring final aesthetics, paint thickness (DFT), nameplate details, and accessory compliance match client\-approved drawings.
- **Prepare complete documentation packs** including test reports, warranty certificates, and custom clearance documents for dispatch.
- *4\. Quality Management \& Continuous Improvement**
- **Analyze internal failures** and customer complaints using root\-cause analysis tools (5\-Why, Fishbone diagrams, 8D methodology).
- **Maintain quality metrics** and update monthly dashboards for internal auditing purposes.
- **Participate actively** in ISO 9001:2015 quality management system documentation and external audits.
- *Required Skills \& Qualifications**
- **Education:** B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in **Electrical Engineering** or related discipline.
- **Experience:** 2–3 years in QA/QC functions specifically within a **Transformer Manufacturing Unit** (Power, Distribution, or Instrument Transformers).
- **Technical Knowledge:**
- Proficient in using electrical testing instruments (Megger, Micro\-ohmmeter, Turn\-ratio meters).
- Familiarity with transformer\-specific national and international standards (**IS 2026, IEC 60076**).
- Clear understanding of core\-clamping, winding techniques, and transformer oil filtration processes.
- **Soft Skills:**
- Strong problem\-solving mindset and detail\-oriented approach.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors, floor supervisors, and third\-party inspectors (e.g., TUV, SGS, Power Grid inspectors).
