Quality Engineer

• *1\. Job Purpose**

To ensure that raw materials, in\-process components and finished products meet defined quality standards, approved specifications, engineering drawings and applicable regulatory requirements. The Junior Engineer will support quality inspection, documentation, process monitoring and implementation of quality management systems.

• *2\. Key Responsibilities**

• *A. Quality Control (QC) – Inspection Activities**

• Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials and purchased components.
• Perform in\-process inspection during fabrication, welding, machining, grinding and assembly.
• Conduct final inspection of finished hospital furniture and medical equipment.
• Verify product dimensions as per approved engineering drawings.
• Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Measuring Tape and Height Gauge.
• Check welding quality, surface finishing, painting/powder coating and assembly quality.
• Identify and report non\-conforming products.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of inspected materials.

• *B. Quality Assurance (QA) – System \& Documentation**

• Maintain quality\-related documents and records.
• Assist in preparing and updating SOPs, work instructions and inspection formats.
• Support implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable medical device quality requirements, where relevant.
• Assist in internal audits and external audits.
• Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain calibration records of measuring and testing instruments.
• Support supplier quality evaluation and monitoring.

• *C. Non\-Conformance \& Continuous Improvement**

• Identify quality issues and raise Non\-Conformance Reports (NCR).
• Coordinate with production and other departments to resolve quality issues.
• Assist in root cause analysis using 5 Why and Fishbone techniques.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor rejection, rework and customer complaint data.
• Suggest improvements to reduce defects and improve product quality.

• *D. General Responsibilities**

• Follow company quality policies and procedures.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in the inspection area.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores and Maintenance departments.
• Ensure inspection activities are completed as per the production schedule.
• Perform other quality\-related duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

• *3\. Educational Qualification**

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Freshers can apply.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings is preferred.
• Experience in medical equipment, hospital furniture, sheet metal or fabrication industries is an advantage.

• *4\. Technical Skills Required**

• Knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional inspection.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001:2015\.
• Knowledge of QC tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of NCR, CAPA and root cause analysis.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and documentation.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and calibration.
• Understanding of welding, fabrication and assembly processes.

• *5\. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**

• Incoming material inspection accuracy.
• In\-process and final inspection compliance.
• Reduction in product rejection and rework.
• Timely closure of NCR and CAPA.
• Accuracy and timely completion of quality documentation.
• Calibration compliance of measuring instruments.
• Customer complaint and rejection reduction.
• Audit compliance and timely implementation of corrective actions.
