Quality Engineering Manager \- SwapClear The SwapClear team delivers strategic and tactical change across commercial, resilience, and regulatory initiatives within a hybrid delivery model. We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to perform a broad range of testing and quality engineering activities across these domains. The role supports multiple workstreams within SwapClear Quality and involves close collaboration with agile delivery squads and the wider Quality Engineering team. The Quality Engineering Manager will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including Business Analysis, Development, Business Operations, Risk, and Support, to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle. The role is a key contributor to the evolution of testing practices and automation frameworks within SwapClear, with a primary focus on Java‑based test automation and Murex. You will drive the adoption of modern Quality Engineering best practices, balancing exploratory testing with automation to ensure scalable, reliable delivery. The successful candidate will bring a strong Quality Engineering background, with experience across a broad range of test design techniques and technologies, and relevant business domain expertise. Experience delivering in complex, fast‑paced environments is essential. Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder‑management, and time‑management skills are critical to success in this role. The role is hands‑on where needed, while also providing leadership, direction, and continuous improvement across quality practices. This role is expected to evolve over time to include line management and people leadership responsibilities. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Represent and champion the Quality Engineering function across multiple agile teams within the location. * Provide feedback and drive the implementation of process and quality improvements where applicable. * Plan and execute test phases in line with agreed test strategies, ensuring delivery to schedule. * Design effective functional and non‑functional test scenarios and test cases, maintaining full traceability to business requirements. * Prepare, manage, and maintain test data to support planned testing activities. * Design, develop, and enhance Java‑based automated test suites. * Execute manual and automated tests, record results, and perform defect verification and re‑testing. * Report testing progress, risks, and issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders. * Identify, analyse, and escalate test environment issues impacting delivery. * Collaborate closely with delivery teams to investigate and resolve defects and issues. * Deliver testing activities to agreed timelines and quality standards. * Proactively identify testing risks and dependencies, escalating to project stakeholders as appropriate. * Support external and integrated testing phases when required.
